aside from the 119-110 scorecard...this fight was def not a robbery...this was prob the closest fight a I have ever watched...To say Martinez got robbed is incorrect IMO...i had like 3 rds even...just could not give either one the rd...i had PW winning 6-3-3 even...117-112 but it could have easily even been a martinez win and it would not have been a robbery in my book
3 rounds even? :huh Anyway i agree with you that it was not a robbery by anymeans. Anybody with a brain should know this.
i think anything beyond 115 113 for either fighter, shows the person scoring the fight either has an extreme bias towards one fighter or is a complete idiot, i wonder which one you fall in to
Unless theres quite a few KDs in a fight normally the guy that lands the least loses. PW won this fight, If martinez wanted it he should have taken it.
Sorry but 117-112 for Williams is absolute nonsense, even if you add "could've gone either way" (you still had it pretty one-way lol). You can make a case both won about the same amount of rounds, still, Martinez clearly landed the more flush shots. I just rescored it and changed from 114-114 to 115-113 Martinez. I rarely score it different in different viewings, but I managed to get a superb quality copy and Martinez manages to slip a lot of shots are looks flush whereas Williams gets hit flush most of the time. Here's an example of an "either way" exchange, the fight had many of these. Watch the difference of the quality of shots. Martinez slips and rolls with punches. This content is protected
If martinez wanted it, he should have taken it? He thought he had...a lot of people did...he is, after all, a Champion at 154. What title does PW have? What should have Martinez tried harder to take?
You will never hear me talk **** about Martinez, but let's be real here... Martinez never once pressed the action. If not for Paul pressing the action relentlessly, this fight would've been more of a snoozefest. I know it's his style, but Martinez just wasn't aggressive enough in the eyes of some. And although a lot of people, including himself thought he had done enough, surely it wasn't enough to jump on his bike for the last 4 Rounds.
i didn't feel he jumped on his bike for the last 4 rounds...didn't get that impression at all. I felt he won 8, 10, and 11 convincingly. I felt that it was the difference in the fight...i have no problem with an MD for Williams though...he definitely brought it, hence the reason we're still talking about the fight. Much resepct for both fighters.
