He does not use his advantages, if he did, he would not have to take as many shots against said 'bums'...the height and wingspan of the guy, he should be keeping almost anyone at the end of his punch, but he doesn't. And he gives up his height way too much.
I think if Berto can watch the film of Quintana and the first Martinez fight where two guys more constantly out of range and counter Paul when he gives up his height coming in he can win Williams has no defense and is slow to defend himself after a punch if Berto is mobile and stays low he can counter his way to victory
i like williams and think he is good for boxing, but even his most ardent supporters admit he doesnt use his advantages at all. he got away with this against ww's b/c they just couldnt deal w/ his workrate. he's always fought smaller guys and never have i seen him establish distance and maintain proper distance for someone w/ such a height/reach advantage over all his opponents. smaller opponents always find him. he doesnt really use a jab, doesnt fight tall... i mean, he should be laying people out cold w/ his athleticism and physical attributes. many of the best ko artists from smw/mw and below are tall, lanky, athletic fighters. but he doesnt really sit down on his punches well and mostly flurries while disregarding his defense and constantly leaving himself exposed. what martinez did to williams was spectacluar but it also would happen to williams against a number of harder hitting mws. winky doesnt hit hard and was more or less a stationary target that night. having said that, i would expect him to beat berto and would be pulling for him. i want to see him come back strong.
I'm going for Williams, but Berto has a good chance. Berto has the better speed, power and footwork IMO, but Berto's never been in with anyone has close to Williams skills. Plus Williams has height, length, experince and as far as we can tell heart on his side.
