Williams VS Calslappy @ 168

I don't think Williams would be the same after this fight. Absolutely the worst match-up he could have, aside from taking on one of the best heavies.

 

I've got nothing against Paul Williams, he's a good fighter, but he beats a bloke in his late 30's who hasn't boxed in a year and a half and that's evidence he could jump way past the division he's used to fighting in and beat the best fighter in that divisions history is it? Get a grip people, the guy got out boxed by Carlos ****ing Quintana despite being way bigger than him, he has no chance against Calzaghe.

 

Not really because anyone with any boxing knowledge knows Calzaghe would win, your hate for Joe has clouded your boxing judgement

That's true. In fact, not fighting tall is one thing I've always criticized him for. I was mainly thinking of what Winky said post fight; "he's loooooonng."

 

the more i think about it... i dont think it would end up that bad.... it would just be a matter of can paul take the punches and how he deals with that weight....

if he can take the punches ok and deal with teh weight ok... it woulndt be that big of a mismatch... it would basically break down to who controls the pace of the fight... since more or less the fight very similar

 

It's hilarious to use "Calslappy" in regards to a Williams matchup. He hits harder than Williams, and would likely stop him.

Joe would take Paul's ass to school. I don't see PW being able to hurt Joe, and I think Paul would eventually succomb to Joe's non-stop assault.

 

Well now...while I truly don't rate Calz and find his career truly frabricated through positioning, timing, hyperbole and lack of talent...Pwill just does not have all the tools necessary to dethrone the well managed, slightly overrated Calz. IMO the only man that posseses the proper tools is Dawson and that will most likey never happen. The only fighter that was even remotely close to Dawsons explosiveness and competitve nature was Roy and he was but a shell of himself. No one takes Joe at this point except Chad, oh and chad not only takes him but he dominates him.

 

Calzaghe UD possible stoppage.

Calzaghe could smother Williams and he is just as active as Williams in fights. He'll keep up the pace and outbox/smother Williams somewhat like he did to Jones. Williams wouldn't have much of height/reach advantage either and the Natural Strength/Power goes to Calzaghe.

Would be a good fight though.
