In the wake of all this BS with Calzaghe, Dawson, Kessler, and Hopkins. I would like to focus on a different boxing subject. As the thread title says who do you have in a potential Williams Dzinziruk showdown? I ask this because the 29th is Williams first significant fight at 154 and has shown hints of him staying their in the future if not now. Dzinziruk has quietly been adding some top 154 names to his resume (Santos, Julio), and is not really being talk about. I seen some fights of him on the internet (It's almost next to impossible to find live fights on him), and he appears to be a very good boxer with some skills. Williams has been itching for respect as no fighter at 147 is really intrigued about the idea of fighting him (note I never said ducking). So I figure this fight would have some significance to both guys. Williams because If he can beat this guy he gains a great deal of respect from hard core boxing fans who know who Dzinziruk is. It works for Dzinziruk because if he were to win it can very much be his coming out party to get him more familar with the american public, which can lead to big fights coming his way. P.S If anybody can give me a better scouting report on Dzinziruk it would be much appreciated (A few fights can only give you so much info you need)
Dzinziruk is excellent. If he had his work cut out with Carlos Quintana's southpaw counterpunching he's in a world of trouble here.
I appreciate the fact that you say "almost intrigued about the idea" instead of ducking, we need more guys like you around here. But I also got agree with TFFP, Dzinziruk is good but he's 32 as we speak and I dont know if he'll be able to make a big name for himself at this age. But I'd favor Williams over him.
I'd love to see this fight. Dzinziruk would be the perfect test for Williams to see if he's got the skills and fighting brain to back up the physical advantages he enjoys over nearly all his opponents.
I really don't know who would win,partly cuz Williams hasn't fought at 154 but even if he would it still would be a hard choice.Voted draw.
