this fight would be awesome , both use offense as defence , both have heart , decent chins on both , power vs volume , id rather watch this then a cintron rematch , who wins ?

If Kirkland comes back true to form, which is completely unknown, I think it would be one hell of a war and to be honest I would favor Kirkland. Williams for one seems to be a streaky fighter, but more importantly lately I just notice how badly his defense sucks and how open he is to be hit. Martinez knocked him down and stunned him several times, Kermit Cintron buckled his legs prior to the leap frog incident and I think his power is overrated as well.

If Kirkland is true to form, meaning if he is just like he was in the Julio fight, I can see him taking P-Will's shots and landing harder cleaner shots on Williams. Kirkland doesn't have the greatest defense himself either, but man the guy is/was a tank and just walks through people, he has that determination and intensity about him in the ring that is so rare these days. I think it would be a war and a classic. Kirkland by 9th round TKO.

Kirkland has a crude style, but he has good hands, and a good workrate, and we all know P-dubs workrate, so it would be a war, but i give the edge to Paul. Very good fight though.

I used to think Kirkland would get trashed by Williams, but the way Paul has been fighting lately i give Kirkland a good chance.

this would be the fight of the year in my opinion but only if kirkland comes back as his old self.

i was just thinkin, if cotto beats te **** outta foreman do u guys think theres any chance we might see cotto v. williams, maybe at yankee stadium because thats also a candidate for fight of the year just wished it woulda happened 2 years ago when they were both still undefeated.

any possibilty we see the winner of that fight against the winner of mayweather v pacquiao i know im speculating alot but a man can dream cant he.

Kirkland hasn't beaten any good fighters in his career. And Williams only got problems vs fighters that stick and move in which that's not Kirkland's style.

I agree, the old Paul that could fight from across the street, fight different ways and control range would outclass Kirkland, but lets get it straight we haven't seen THAT Paul in a while, he's been fighting dumb lately, giving up his height voluntarily, not rolling with punches and just trying to walk people down with that mentality he gives Kirkland a chance, he's also starting to develope scar tissue and relying on his chin too much.

I'm not a fan of Kirkland but if you try and bomb him out you play to his strengths, the kid is not my type of fighter stylistically, but he does have that dog in him, carrys good pop and is very determined and tough.

To early to tell Kirkland hasn't fought at that level yet.

    Please watch Kirkland highlights....

I have brought this up in a different thread. Kirkland has a pitiful habit of leaning his head straight back when he takes a shot. And he pauses for a split second and then resumes action.

    WTF???

This habit alone would be enough to seal his fate against a guy who will throw 6 to 10 punch combos.
