Clottey was at 147, I think beating de la hoya, cotto and clottey make him worthy of being considered a 7division champ, the margarito fight for a belt was buul**** though, but that division is so weak i ahve no doubt he can beat soem guys at that weight if he choose to do.
But lets say he can beat a guy like martinez at 154 that would make him worthy of carrying that belt in my opinion, at the moment no

Martinez was about 19lbs a month away from the fight, I think he would struggle to make 154, JMO.

In a recent interview, Martinez says he intends to fight two more times before retiring.

Once again, there's no point in weight divisions.

    **** catchweights.

YEa its all crap. Its funny how PWs camp gets all angry about the catchweight when its brought up. They know its bull**** so they avoid the questions.

    It's interesting.

When this fight was announced, I thought, "Well, he came in at 159 for the first fight, and against Pavlik, and he's fought at 154 fairly recently, so it's probably not going to have too much of an effect".

But what's happened recently has made me rethink that a little. Firstly, DiBella stated in the wake of the Pavlik victory that it was pretty-much impossible for Martinez to make 154 any more.

Secondly, for a WBC-sanctioned title fight, you have to have informal weigh-ins 30 days and 7 days in advance. You don't have to "hit weight", but it's so that they can get some idea of where you are.

At the thirty-day mark, Martinez weighed 176 and Williams weighed 162.
At the seven-day mark, Martinez has been cited as weighing 166; I can't find the figures for Williams. If true, it means Martinez has to drop 8 pounds in the last week.

The news of the weights prompted Dwyer, of gamblersadvisory.com, to issue a second prediction video where he withdrew his recommendation of Martinez (which he made in the first video) and advised people not to bet on the fight.

I guess we'll have to wait and see whether it has any effect, but it doesn't look particularly problem-less.

It's time for the sanctioning bodies to take a stand, IMO, and state that title fights should not be made at catchweights. The trouble with that is that we might get fewer fights, and we all know how greedy the ABCs are when it comes to cash ...

Either way Williams has a decent track record in rematches against south paws that have beat him... I have a feeling Williams is going to repeat what he did with Quintanna in their rematch.
