Just finally got to watch the whole fight of Williams vs Martinez I and not just highlight clips... damn it was a total war... probably one of the best fights i've seen in a long time... now that Martinez has beaten Pavlik for some middleweight titles, he needs his rematch against Paul Williams and it should be at 160...i feel that martinez would be fine to fight at that weight since having fought two fights now against good opposition....after the second p.will fight comes off (and depending on what happens in the fight)... martinez can certainly stay back down at 154 and dominate....

But i do hope that Williams vs Martinez II happens at the end of the year...

btw... i scored their first fight 115-112 for P. Williams

    :good

I scored a Draw , this was great fight so rematch is good idea . And we have only 2 middleweight fighters populary in HBO - Pavlik , Williams . Martinez doesnt have many options.

martinez should unify 154... but i just feel that he could compete at 160 as well.. but i agree with you... there aren't that many big options for him there...

The first fight was a classic, i thought martinez won 7-5, i think it was quite clear and as such i do think it was a robbery, that said i would love to see a rematch!

He should choose spinks and foreman over williams and pavlik?

i respect your opinion... there were alot of close rounds in the middle of the fight that could have been scored going either way... i just felt that from rounds 4-8, williams took control of the fight with his left and was dodging more of martinez's right hooks...though it was still very competitive...

rematch would be another classic... :good

no, that's not what i meant... he's still a titleholder at 154... and at 160... i feel that he can compete at 160 and still do well... but who else does he have after pavlik and williams there?... no one of note yet but if he wants to just reign at 160.. that sounds good to me too...i was just stated that he could unify at 154 before fully moving to 160 but i guess that's just wishful thinking... he may as well stay at 160 now because it's just a more lucrative division...

I think most fans get away from the way boxing is judged....its not how flashier and lands the hardest punches, its whoever boxes the best. who controls the fight, whos busier, who is putting on the pressure...Williams did all that plus a knockdown..

i had the figth 115-113 also.....but if they fight again, williams wins by UD..or KO

Williams-Martinez was a great fight and a rematch should be sought if Pavlik doesn't exercise the rematch clause.

Martinez went in without a full training camp , gassed in the last few rounds , still i had it a draw , he showed in the pavlik fight he is a strong finisher , i feel he could and would do better if they fought again , also what a badass match up , i hope it happens

so you feel that martinez would win a clear decision against p.williams if he has a better training camp? or would it be close decision again?

    They've unfinished business.

Hope they get the judges right this time, I had it 7-5 Martinez, won't argue with a draw, a Williams win at a push. But to score the fight 119-110 reeks of bull****, Benoist was paid, no other explanation for giving Martinez one ****ing round out of 12.

It was highly competitive without doubt.

i think i had it even after ten, then martinez winning 11&12, but i never re watched it.

if he stays at 154, he has the option of ww jumping up. but at 160 he has the two rematches, sturm, sylvester, winky, macklin, duddy that would see him through to retirement

This is one of those fights where I gave williams the win, but understand when people say it was a draw or martinez won.

i can't wait for the next bout, the first was a classic, i think PW will win in a second bout, probably by KO mid rounds
