I had Williams winning, but Williams took more damage.

Williams-Martinez was a great fight. Tough to score. Williams threw and landed more, was the aggressor, and was not inclined to move and hold as much as Martinez. Therefore, I have no problem with him winning. That said, I can see how some would like Martinez's really crisp, clean, harder punches. I thought a lot of rounds were close/even/difficult to score because Martinez would land so cleanly and sharply, but then Williams kept attacking, throwing and landing so many (although often arm punches) and Martinez would often grab when Williams got close. Referee broke them too often because Williams was trying to work his way out from the clinches and was entitled to keep punching. I can see why that one judge might have been soured to Martinez as a result of his moving and grabbing. Basically, I think Williams eeked it or it was a draw, but I don't think Martinez deserved to win the fight.

I don't know how anyone could score the first round even. Yeah Williams "knocked" martinez down, but Martinez really put him down and had him hurt.

I think a lot of Martinez's shots were hurting Williams. However, it has to be said, Williams does have an amazing chin, he took a lot of flush shots. Honestly, on clean effective punching I don't see how Williams could have won this, close but a Martinez win.

1st round could be a draw because both scored knockdowns. Martinez's was better, but Williams was was way more aggressive and active throughout the majority of the round, while Martinez did a lot of running around.

I agree. Martinez's punches were much more meaningful. Paul Williams face and attitude showed who landed the more meaningful punches.

    Martinez close UD.

Williams landed more, but not a great deal more... and Martinez's punches were a lot more meaningful for the most part. Can see how it might go the other way in some peoples mind by a point or so, but that 119-110 was disgraceful.

I scored for Williams but it could go either way. An excellent but close fight. Bye bye Pierre for judging hopefully.

Martinez was just way more effective. Take away all those punches that missed and just look at what was landing.
