I'm new to watching boxing but I thought Williams won. It was a close fight and the scorecard was ****ed badly.

I had it 116-113 for Williams. This was a great fight.

I'm not saying Martinez was never hurt. He definatly was. There was one point at the end of a round where Williams landed a huge left hand that nearly dropped him. I think you'd be foolish to think that he was hurt when he went down though. The replay clearly showed that the punch barely touched him and it was more a question of balance.

What I am saying is that Williams was hurt more often than Martinez. A lot more often. He just recovers quickly and has a ton of heart and is light years ahead of martinez in terms of stamina so when he was hurt he was able to fight back as martinez didn't have enough in the tank to finish him off. But a lot of those times when he fired back, martinez avoided a lot of the shots.

I agree... I had Paul winning and it was close but the poll is puzzling to me..:huh I can't see how so many people had it for Martinez like that.. I figured it would be closer on the poll.. But like u said probably alot of money lost on Martinez..

You guys think that majority of the people voting in this poll lost money on Martinez despite the fact that he was an underdog? Wouldn't him being an underdog by default mean that more people made money on Williams, than the number of people that lost on Martinez? Afterall if 57% of people had been betting on Sergio, he wouldn't have been a dog.

don't think their saying williams winning is a robbery, it honestly could have gone either way. however that ****in 119-110 is when complete utter bull**** comes into play. only in my home state and ironically my city...i'm ashamed.

117-113 is acceptable b/c a couple of rounds were toss ups and one can argue for either fighter but like you said 119-110 :admin it's a travesty LMAO

This why I scored it for Martinez as well...almost all of the damaging shots were from martinez.....I tend to favor a fighters workrate quite a bit, but in this fight you could see Martinez was doing a lot more damage....I have no problems with Paul winning 115-113....

I think its also fair to say that Williams showed that he can make adjustments mid fight and show effectiveness against such a dynamic fighter. Paul didnt fight his usual fight but I still felt Williams was the better man. And like Corrales against Castillo, he fought Sergio's fight made it exciting and won.

Furthermore for those of you who think (not talking about you fitz just consolidating my post) that Williams is somehow is overrated and think that Williams "fanboys" know their boy lost need to look at their own motives. It was a close fight, Martinez fought gallantly but came up short.
