I just read that Goosen Tutor is looking to get Shane Mosley for the WBA title along with the ring magazine welterweight title. I'm sure this fight will happen if Shane doesn't cowar out ... Goosen Tutor and GBP will make the financial side beneficial for both fighters ...

The ring said that if and when Paul Williams comes down to welterweight that he would be the #2 ranked contender in the division.

I read that they had offered Margarito 4m to fight a rematch with Williams, Mosley has a big enough name to make some good money.

My questions to you guys is ...

What will it take for Mosley to accept the offer?

Who do you think wins and why?

    Is this fight PPV worthy?

I think this is a great fight. I think it'll happen. And I think Williams would sneak a decision in an epic. Imagine how many punches will be thrown every round by these two!!

    A miracle.

PW by KO. See Vernon Forrest vs Mosley to see how.

I would buy it b/c I'm a fan of both, but it would depend on the undercard. Have a WW show case. 2 or 3 title matches on the card. Berto v collazo II:good and Cintron v Quintana (for the underachieving PR boxer belt)

I agree with you, this fight would be one for the ages ... you have to guys coming to fight and defense won't be a big issue with these guys.

So many factors there are determining the winner ...

    Speed - Both fighters
Power - Williams, does he have enough power to get respect from Mosley
Movement - mosley, does he have any
Cuts - Williams has been cut a few times ... Mosley's old and as you get older you become more cut prone.
Stamina - Does Mosley have the work rate to hang with Williams ... he has the power

The winner of this fight can make things happen and for the next couple of years make some big fights.

Mayweather (fomer champion coming out of retirement)
    Berto
Cotto (if he gets past Clottey)
    Margarito
Clottey (if he gets past Cotto)
Pacquiao who can come back up if the money is right and despite the height difference can hang with pretty much anyone.
Valero who in a couple of years will be in the same position as Pacquiao

These guys for the exception of Clottey can bring some money to the table for the winner.

If Clottey beats Cotto, then there would be NO reason why Clottey wouldn't give PW a fight. Clottey knows what its like to be left out in the cold.. Then again, so did Margs and he bitched out on a rematch with PW. But Clottey seems to be more willing to fight anyone than Margs and Cotto IMO

If I am not mistaken Mosley explicitly stated he didn't want any part of Williams, although I would agree it would be maginificent fight. As far it being PPV, why not? Two P4P guys going at it. That being said, Williams is gunning for Hopkins or Calazghe, but I think the best fight out there for him is to fight James Kirkland. As for Mosley a rematch with Cotto or fight with Mayweather.

    What up !!

    How you been?

I don't think that anyone in TopRank will allow their fighter to fight Paul Williams because of the risk, but they would probably blame it on Goosen and Al Haymond.

Everything is good. Finally got some time to post here. What's new in MI? PBF is on the comeback I see. You must've talked him into it!!

BTW, I think me and you were the only two that said Cotto wouldn't make it to see PBF.... :deal But now isn't the time for 'I told you so'

i'm a williams fan but rooted against him vs winky cause i been a winky fan longer and same thing would happen if he fought mosely. i'd have to root for mosely but i dunno if he's got enough left to deal with williams output. i wanna see william vs pavlik.

The worst possible fight for Mosley out there. Williams by UD or late stoppage.

Let me start by saying as a Mosley fan, I do not want to see this fight happen--way too risky.

That said, Mosley is a crazy *******!

He's probably begging Oscar to make the fight happen right now!

Mosley has ALWAYS wanted to prove himself against the very best.

Personally, I hope he chooses opponents a bit more carefully in the twilight of his career.

He should be hoping Hatton beats Pacquiao so he can gun for Floyd.
