    Williams-Phillips clash set!
Promoter Dan Goossen will announce on Wednesday a showdown between WBO welterweight champ Paul "The Punisher" Williams and IBF junior middleweight champ Verno Phillips, expected to take place on November 29th at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. The bout, which will be for the WBO interim 154lb title, will be Williams' second consecutive bout outside the welterweight division. In the co-feature, unbeaten heavyweight Cristobal "The Nightmare" Arreola takes on Travis Walker. Both bouts will be shown on HBO.

Is Phillips vacating the IBF 154lbs belt then ? Also if Williams beats Phillips which to me is a definite, then he will be WBO interim 154lb champ. Will Sergei Dzindziruk fight him as he is the full WBO champ ?

Interesting fight, Walkers a big guy, likes to box from the jab, wasnt it rumoured that he knocked down Vitali Klitschko in sparring (during the point when he kept on pulling out of fights with back injuries)???
Arreola im no fan of, but should beat Walker though.

Both fights look to be good. I think Arreola will stop Walker early in a shoot out of sorts. Williams will beat Phillips but will have to work to get it. Verno is a tough, smart, veteran but is getting a bit up there in age to deal with a young gun like Williams. I hope Williams uses this fight to springboard himself into a big fight with Pavlik in 09. After Arreola beats Walker he needs to look for a title shot or atleast an eliminator.
