I thought it was a very easy victory for Williams. He had all the early rounds (CLEARLY) in the bag so he had an option to coast some down the stretch. Remember this was a fight in Margo's backyard and 2 of the three judges were from California as well. So if the fight would have been in another state the final results could have been much worse :dead

    :good :good :good

PKG, this fact has been lost on EVERYONE! That 7-5, 7-5, 8-4 score was actually best case scenario for Margarito.

This is all bull****. I was at the fight too, and Paul Williams was definitely holding for dear life in the 10th and 11th and Margos punches sounded like shotgun blasts everytime he went to William's body. As a margo fan I can agree that Williams pulled off a clear decision and give him props digging deep in the 12th, but to say that he was shaking those hard shots off is nonsense.

If you watch though the classic Margarito did not show up until the 11th. Every round it was one and done. Watch his other fights with Cintron and Cotto where he threw punches in combination. Even against Santos. When he came out in the 11th and threw flurries he was doing very well because Williams was not allowed to reset and get back on the jab.

For some reason he heavily underestimated Williams and thought that he'd get a knockout off of one punch. Williams is simply too big and too durable for that. Rematch happens Margarito MUST work in flurries, upstairs and downstairs.

I'm not saying he can't knock Williams out but if he is going to do it he better do it on many punches, not just one and done. He has to really make Williams work every round. Take something off the one big punch and disperse it over many punches. That's the way to go.

I was there also. Williams took the harder shots in the 11th, but if you look closely at the 10th, he actually came out and won that round. I ain't bullshittin ya man! The video is finally up on YouTube. You can see for yourself. And you can see that Williams was never staggering. He was not "holding on for dear life" he threw 65 punches, and as Steward said, every time Margo slowed down the onslaught, Williams would come back and throw punches. He fought his way through that round. DAMN! You haters can't give anyone credit!

Neck, as I said, this fight gets closer and closer every time the AM fanatics tell the story lol. Williams was almost knocked out...so much, that he stayed on his feet and threw even more punches in the 12th...in AM's backyard. The man didn't even ask AM if he could take a plate of barbecue home. He just filled his plate and left without saying good bye. First it was Williams didn't want an immediate rematch even when after the fight he said he would rematch AM...and second, AM filed a petition to see if the scoring of the fight is off, and the petition fails. And now AM fans say AM is making Williams wait. That is so disgusting to say it makes me want to:barf :dead ...

Each of those excuses, alone, is evidence of a person who either doesn't know **** about boxing, or someone who is clearly a Margo fan.

And this fool used them BOTH in one sentence! :patsch

It was a damn good fight. They both gave their all, and neither one ever gave up. Williams was definately taken out of his comfort zone in the 11th. Only Williams knows how bad he was really hurt, but it didn't seem like he was close to being stopped. He came out in the 12th like the 11th never happened. Props to Williams for coming back like a champ and props to Margo for pushing Williams to the limit.
