well yeah so do i...but if he stays long enough im sure a fight w/ williams will happen. after abraham who else is pav going to fight at mw? he'd have to move up to smw and by that time its gonna be quite crowded up there
I think Williams -Pavlik would be a better fight. I think Pavlik beats Abraham down, which I'd love to see.
yeah...and i should actually clarify. i dont think arum will just try, i think he will move mountains in an effort to make the fight. i can see him thinking "a title defense against a quality opponent that may actually generate buzz and its not abraham!!" (disclaimer: i am a huge pav fan and im not suggeting pav is ducking abraham...im suggesting arum would rather have the williams fight first)
Gotta love Williams fighting everyone from 147-160. I don't think Cotto will ever fight Williams he and his team know he'd take a beating. I applaud Clottey for saying he'd fight Williams.
Funny, because I see AA wiping the floor with Pav. I would love to see AA-Williams before Pav-Williams. We've seen how Pav fights against a boxer.
Arum won't make the Pav-Williams fight. It isn't a fight the public is demanding anyway. People are starting to demand AA-Pav, and Arum tells us AA needs more exposure lol. A man with almost 10 defenses, and living on another continent, and this is what Arum tells the fans lol...
Well we know that the man in your avy won't ever fight Williams at 147 right? Are we clear on that at least lol...???
Williams is a freak of nature. Unfortunately I'm not sure he'll get a big fight at welterweight. I don't understand why Arum would let Clottey fight Williams and not Cotto. I think whoever wins between Cotto/Clottey will probably not fight Williams either way. EDIT: I meant that I don't understand why Arum woud put Clottey in with Williams and not Cotto also. :good
To answer to that is simple; Clottey is a bigger fighter who is better equipped to fight a big, strong fighter like Williams. Not only that, but Cotto has more options than Clottey. Cotto matches up terribly with Williams and could get more money fighting the Pac/Hatton winner, Mosley, or possibly Berto.
Makes sense. But I think they would both lose to Williams. I think Cotto has a better shot of beating Paul, but he also has a much bigger chance to get hurt by those punches coming from weird angles and lose in worse fashion. I used to think Clottey had a good shot of beating Williams, but I've changed my mind and I think Williams would win a clear UD. But I think I get what you're saying.
