    Listen Palmer, you were saying it was happening and claiming an exclusive when the only thing you were going off was a facebook update by Hyde that was nearly 24 hours old - that I had actually replied to.

    Here in lies the difference - we had a reporter at a press conference that spoke to the promoter and actually got an exclusive. He then went and spoke to the fighter in question and then went to speak to his management team. Two are saying they want it to happen and one is keeping schtum.

    Bit of a difference in a. the approach taken and b. the message conveyed.

    p.s. Since when is Dublin in Cork? Wouldnt like to walk it from the hotel you are planning on booking!

    Never saw any facebook updates. got the news from a source thats involved in both camps. at the end of the day you said it was never going to happen......but it is. Seems like I am the insider when it comes to Irish boxing and your just picking up the scraps. welcome your multi font/coloured response.

    i cant be ****ed going through 6 pages of slappy and some dubk fella who i know found out is rob palmer going at each other

    either way i think ill go to this one, rigo knocks him out so badly it will be devastating

    It shows balls and Casey isn't exactly gonna learn much now: his default setting is dangerous and he can go some.

    Just not sure that Rigo is the best choice; he'll be too mobile, snappy and eye-catching IMO, though it's a seriously intriguing fight. I really like Casey, and hope he makes a good account of himself, but I've been a fan of Rigo since his amateur days and will be rooting for him.

    i never claimed the twitter page to be anything other than internet gossip. slap and alba slagged it off and said it would never happen.....but it has.

    If he ever has a chance of beating Rigo's it's now or right at end of Rigo's career and lets face it, Casey's gonna have some wars till that day so this isn't a bad call...but IMO he doesn't beat Rigo...but fair play to him for wanting it.

    Good call

    His intentions are to fight anyone and I don't think he can lose here. Not the fight, he'll be a huge underdog and rightly so.

    But the increased profile is a given and remember the Hyland fight got only a short sell what with the Kiko pull-out, this one would bring huge attention and build up.
