Any of the Scottish boxing people know how good this lad is?

I know he is very highly rated and holds a win over Harris Akbar, obviously really young for a pro. Is he ready to be let loose now or one for the future?

probably one for the future tbh, he won a gold at the youth world championships and I was told the offer he got to turn professional was one he couldn't turn down. best of luck to him:thumbsup:

Yeah I saw he got the gold and apparently beat Akbar who just won our ABAs as a first year senior quite comfortably

Won Euros and Worlds at junior level. Great talent, only 18/19 now!

He's certainly achieved Great success as a junior in the amateurs and having seen him fight he certainly is a very good prospect.

Just watched his ifl interview there. He's saying he's Scotland's greatest amateur ever, surely this is dick mctaggart though? Success in the seniors is a completely different ballgame to the juniors.

Of course its Mctaggart. Ive read that statement before in a newspaper article and It's bull dung.

Dick is arguably the greateat British amateur ever never mind just Scotland. Bronze and Gold Olympic medals. Val Barker trophy winner. Commonwealth and European champion. 5 times ABA. Only never won a World AC medal because it wasn't around at the time. Won 610 out of 634 bouts.

It was tongue in cheek mate lol, it isn't remotely close or comparable.

Somebody should maybe inform young Hutchison of dicks achievements.

    I know mate lol.

It's ridiculous that a Scottish boxer doesn't know about the great Dick Mctaggart. You would have thought someone around him would have nipped it in the bud already. Listening to his accent I don't think he's 100% Scottish so that might be the reason.

He's apparently different class so I'm looking forward to watching him progress.

He is originally from traveling stock, the reason his accent is different.
There is a lot to like about this guy, let's see what he can do.

Goodluck to him. Big talent but one for the future -- dont think he has had any senior fights as an amateur.

Wonder if Haye will have him box in Scotland?

I am very sceptical that he has gone with David Haye. Haye is an egomaniac who has more love and care for himself than anyone connected to him. He is unreliable and you have no idea what his future holds. This move kind of reminds of Callum Johnson signing with Prince Nassem.....and look how that went.

I hope Willie does not regret this decision.

If I've read it all correctly it looks like he'll be trained by Ismael Salas through Hayemaker/Ringstar (whatever the connection there is).

That alone is a mouth watering prospect for any young pro so hopefully it all works out on the promotional side as well.

Alright thanks. Yeah certainly you would think working with Salas there would be aiming to implement a Cuban style of hit without being hit. The man certainly has a good CV anyway.

I'm still a bit pessimistic with Hutchison being with Hayemaker however I hope I'm proved wrong.
