After all the bull**** of him claiming he wouldn't declare himself a world champion, and 80% of this forum kissing his arse, heres what Willie Limmond said after wining the WBU agaisnt a guy that Amir Khan knocked out in 1 round.

"I want to defend my title at Firhill because I'm a Partick Thistle fan and it feels brilliant to be world champion. I'll take on anybody"

    1) your not gonna fill a stadium if only 600 showed up to your "World Title Fight"

    2) Your not a world champion

    3) Youll take on anybody..........................even African Featherweights with Aids and Amir Khan 1st round KO victims, perhaps the french guy Khan KO'd in 20 secs.

You guys can slag me off all you like but you cannot disagree with any of my points. I couln't care less about Willie trying to make a living, there plenty of people in this country worse of than him that work hard and do not degrade a sport and rip people of to make money.

I disagree with the fact that you said ass instead of arse on the Brit forum.

maybe he should fight the GBC, IBA and WBF champions to become undisputed champ? What a tool, hope the WBU robbed him of a ton of money in sanctioning fees for that phony piece of **** belt.

What is it with you and Willie Limond Rob?

  5. I've nothing against Limond or any other boxer that goes the WBU route. If they're making a bit more money by having a nonsense title then good on them. Real boxing fans know the belt means nothing and it's not like Sky are showing WBU fights any more, so I can't see what harm it's doing to the sport.

He's still not a world champ though, and to claim so is just daft. He'll never fill a football stadium on his own either, unless he gets a game for Partick Thistle which is a possibility considering the standard of football up there.

this has been doen to death has it not?you have made your point.Yes the wbu is one of the lower regarded world titles, but hatton did it for years, and made quite asuccesful career out off it?How many times did he sell out the MEN while defending the WBU belt?

so idont see why limond cant try and do it?Also the reason there was 'only' 600 there was because it was in a hotel, not a hall or an arena.

at the end of the day its easy for us (boxing fans ) to sit and criticse boxers but they have a short shelf life,so you cant blame them for doing what they have to do ...its simple rob if you dont like ,dont buy a ticket for it or watch it.

in the uk weve got murrey,thaxton,arthur,mcallister.. etc
i realise its not as simple as just picking a fight but seeing limond fight nobodies is a bit dissapointing

Let's have a football stadium event against Katsidis. I'd like to see him again for a WBU defence.

Anyone who steps into a boxing ring to fight at any level does not deserve that sort of criticism Rob.

Rob sometimes you are such a tit. People say things in the press for a reason. He has a responsability to sell as many tickets as he can. To promote himself. He technically has won a world title and therefore he is a world champion. I very much doubt Willie considers himself a genuine world champion in a historical sense but he is just as much a world champion as any of the other unproven claments throughout the sport.

Willie is a great fella. And your constant critism of him is stupid. I for one would prefer to have more boxers on here then be known as an idiot forum which is how some other websites/forums regard us.

There was a time when the British forum was an excellent place to swap knowledge but at the moment with the various idiots on here its becoming a joke.

No disrespect to the many good posters like Achilles, ishy, BB etc etc etc but this type of post is just insighting hate and ill-feeling.

What are you hoping to achieve from the post? All you are doing is illustrating your lack of understanding about the business side of the sport.

Well Rob is being a hypocrite, I mean he is criticising Willie for fighting an opponent that Khan beat in one round, yet Khan himself was beaten in one round, taken very close by Willie, yet he is fighting for a recognised world title in a different weight division. Rob is basically saying Willie is not deserving of the extra rewards that the title will bring him, but I am sure he would back Khan if anyone criticises him for all the rewards he is receiving, which many feel are undeserving.
