Word is that Mexican ring legend Erik “El Terrible” Morales (49-6, 34 KOs) could make the next step in his comeback against former U.S. Olympian Vicente Escobedo (22-2, 14 KOs) on July 17 at the Estadio Caliente in Morales’ hometown of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Sources report that the bout would be for the WBC International welterweight title won by Morales against Nicaraguan José Alfaro in March. No contract has been signed at this point, but things are far enough along that press conferences in Los Angeles, Tijuana and Mexico City are being arranged for the bout, which would be televised in Mexico by Televisa.
I don't know why he is still fighting. He'll never beat any of the world champs. I'll be impressed if he could beat some of the 147 contenders.
Willie deserves a break and this could be it...though if it goes ahead it's likely to a couple of nights in a hospital bed. Only Icelandic Volcanic eruptions can stop Willie losing this one.
i can assure you its happening, contract will arrive in glasgow this im told, the same old pessamistic Top Dog lol
I aint always pessimistic, only half the time Billy:yep I'm keeping my fingers crossed it does happen though. I've no doubt that its in the pipeline but just have to wait and see if Morlaes will go through with it not our Willie!
