i am gonna try get scottish title fights back on the Agenda, but av got to get this up and running 1st, a lot of the lads on the undercard have only had 2,3,4, and 5 fights so their not ready for 10 rounders yet, Kevin Mcintyre was meant to fight for a Scottish title but his opponent cant do that weight no more, some of the other fighters will be ready for that in 4 or 5 fights or something, well i hope so anyway!!

I would be 100% behind fighting for the Scottish title and stick with it while you wait for something bigger like British.

I agree boxing has changed but this is also because of the people within. The promoters, fighters and even fans have condoned the downfall of boxing. They have done this by allowing TV to call the shots.

If you put on a decent sized show, with traditional belts and a loyal homebase then surely everyone can make money.

To be honest, its the people behind the fighters that really call the shots. Frank Warren put Matthews v Simpson together but he did it for the WBU when Simpson was the British champ. That fight was on ITV and mainstream fans were introduced to **** like the WBU rather than a good old British scrap.

Not every fighter can be the best but what happened to trying to be the best in you area, England, Scotland, Britain, Commonwealth or Europe. These titles hold real clout. Being the best IBU champ doesnt really mean anything to anyone - not the fans, not the fighters legacy etc

After this, I sincerely hope you put your weight behind a more traditinal approach.

I'd much prefer you advertise your next fight as the number 1 contender to Murray, Thaxton and Khan rather than the number 1 fighter at 135 for the WBU.

We need people like you to help cause change and bring back old school boxing.

dunky,it was a pleasure to work with scotland best ever boxer and possibly britans best ever coach in scott and peter harrison, with regards to the gomez and burns shoving match this was blown out of all proportion ,but let me tell you dunky its given burns an even bigger incentive to defend his title IN THE RING.good luck hope you go to both shows.

aah thanks for the answer Billy my good man. I was just joking of course talking about you & the Burns-Gomez 'pusharound', thank **** you didnt take it serious:lol: Sometimes I forget that when I try to post with a bit of humour it might come accross like Im being serious, cos it is hard to have banter here sometimes, cos whats funny if you said it in the pub comes accross deadly serious when its in post form! Strange, but true...

Im feeling like **** now getting into Limond WBU argument at all, its just that I have a long history of moaning about the WBU on here, but its been done to death & of course I will be cheering Willie on. As I said before, Willie could galvanize scottish boxing with his title when he wins it. I been here for years talking up Limond, before he fought Khan & Wullie has a new batch of fans on here, so it saddens me that Willie might not like me here anymore cos I had a whinge about the WBU, but thats the tightrope you walk on a messageboard, its such a fine line when talking boxing, you cant keep all of the people happy all of the time, sadly enough!

Anway, if you are still reading, its a real buzz to have your good self on here, I was a mad Scotty fan for YEARS here, & i still miss him to this day. A bit of me died as a boxing fan when Scotty went off the rails, cos I KNEW the lad had it in him to have beaten one of the elite fighters in his weight class when Scotty was champion. I always said so here, but sadly things went wrong & I never got the chance to tell everyone I was right...

Just make sure you got that strategy right to beat Gomez, its high time a scotsman shut his big mouth once & for all, PLEASE make sureBurns blasts him out!

BTW, I am on record here about half a year ago pattering you up for improving Burns mr Nelson, Ricky has definitely shown hes taken a leap in his developement since hes went under your wing. People can say Im a suck, but its in my archive! Long before you arrived here, so there you go.

Just make sure the Rickster gubs him Billy, cos I have been waiting on a jock shutting his mouth for way too long:deal

Im not ignorant, & Im not british.

What is British anyway? Great Britain? How can Britain be a country when it doesnt even have its own patron saint.

Im scottish, not British. Just cos my country has to suffer you lot running us into the ground & sucking up our vast oil reserves in the process, doesnt mean I have to class myself the same as you.

Only person here who is being ignorant here is you, calling me a 'brit' you say you are sorry for going off topic, not half as sorry as I am, having to read your **** poor attempt at trying to label me.

So lets just end your off-topic attack on my person right now. We are done.
    Lets get back to boxing.

You are British. Get used to it.

Since when was Great Britain a country? It's a political union.

It works both ways. Great Britain isn't an affliction on Scotland, it's a union you moron. If you want separation, take that ***** Gordon Brown with you. Bear in mind if he wasn't British he wouldn't be PM.

You're labelling yourself though. Don't like labels, don't wear one.
