:good Fair point, I was merely talking from a selfish boxing fans point of view.

Realistically, Willie will take the fight that'll bring in the money and a 'world' title fight will do that. Fair play to him as he seems like a really nice guy. Hope he gets a British or Euro title fight soon.

    You really are comical.

The general fighting fan wouldnt lose any disrespect over Limmond fighting for this belt as they see it as a "World Title" perhaps. The same as any boxing fanatic wouldnt lose any disrespect over Limmond fighting for said title as they would and as i suspect, see and know what his motives are.

You have seen the hassles he has had recently aye ? You dont think he wants a British title shot ? Im pretty sure he does but right now he is setting up his promotion as well as trying to get himself a fight. That aint easy im sure. His first promotion he has got himself fighting for the WBU.....thats good BUSINESS whether it was him or another boy.

when you "tell him" :rofl maybe ask him how he rates the WBU aswell. Probably the same as you rate it.

    :hi:

Everyone says WBU gets you more money but is this true? Warren puts on most of the shows with the WBU. The fighters get more money cos Warren pays them it. Good quality British scraps are dying out cos people are fighting for the WBU or staying with the Commonwealth. Pryce v Moore? Why was Matthews v Simpson for the WBU and not the British.

What happened to being able to say you are the best in Britain in your weight class! To me that means something. WBU to me means nothing and jusut makes me question the boxers intentions.

Am no sure if it gets you more money these days, i mentioned earlier in the thread and asked maself if it ever was/still the case. I wonder myself why Matthews V Simpson was for the WBU. Personally i dont go on the belts anymore though i am certainly of the thinking that its Brit then Commonwealth then European, stuck in my ways i guess but i canna question a fighter fighting for other belts.

Whats to blame though ? The fighters or the belts for the non traditional route these days ? Money surely has to be in there somewhere and as someone said the belts being tied up with tv rights etc surely tops it all.

Im as intrigued as anyone and am all ears too :good

 Yes I was. If it was up to me then there'd be none of these bogus alpha straps floating around. I'd like each division with just one belt and a proper rankings system. Unfortunately that's never going to happen so I can live with 3/4 belts but we don't really need all these WBU/IBO/WBF etc. nonsense.

If the likes of Robinson, Greb et al fought in non-title 10 rounders then why can't todays fighters? Unfortunately that's never going to happen so we will continue to see WBU/IBO etc title fights which will make the fighters a bit more money and fair play to them for taking the fights that'll get them maximum £££. Gary Lockett even said that he preferred to defend his WBU belt rather than fight for the British title as that made him more money.

Based on this, willie may retire.... I remember when Rob lost respect for me when I critised Amir Khans defence pre Prescott, it was a tough time for me and the family.

    Be strong Willie.
