So what if you were an ex-boxer? That holds no weight with me when discussing things on this board. You were a journeyman who was lined up as cannon fodder for a 2 fight novice pro in Amir Khan....a guy who would no doubt have earned you so much more than you could have ever have be paid previously but then still go on to mock in a childish manner when he comes up short.

i love how everyone slags of the WBU, everybody slags of Hatton, Matthews, Jennings, McAllister for fighting for and defending these belts. but when a fighter they like or that posts on here fights for the title they all jump to his defence.

fact is that the IBF, WBC, WBA, and WBO are bad enough. i was thinking about it the other day, you got a guy at lightweight Nate Campbell that owns 3 of the 4 belts at that weight, yet 90% of people do not see him at the number 1 a lightweight.

these belts need to be outlawed by the press, the media, the fighters, the promoters but most of all the fans. only if we come together and refuse to recognize these titles in anyway will we get rid of them. called the wba a version of the world title is wrong, calling the wbu a belt is wrong, its nothing. its less than nothing. in years to come when you look back at willies record and it shows he has won the wbu people will think bad of him. when i look at ricky hattons record is see 10 wbu defences instead of defending his british title and fighting legit fight. hatton conned the people of manchester for 4 years.

when Willie wins the WBU title theres going to be a hall full of scotsman that think they have seen a legitimate world title fight, and i doubt willie will tell them any differently. this is wrong.

there is not a single world champion in the sport of boxing right now. its depressing. when carl froch won the wbc title he won a boxing trophy, he cannot call himself a world champion. thats not carl fault i know, but its fact.

I would tend not to lose any respect for the boxer in the slightest for taking the WBU fight on as it is hard to get what you want in that business and it seems like Limond is making the most of a crap situation.

However your initial point about the hypocrisy of the WBU being worthless until someone that posts on here fleetingly bids for the belt is 100% correct.

 

Because you have another account and decline to tell me who it is... cowardly. My opinions on boxers is based entirely on my knowlege of the sport. Going by your genius theory your in no position to post on the forum as you've never boxed.

My boxing career and friends I have made while been a participant has given me some fantastic life experiances and some great contacts should I ever wish to get serious about writing.Do you personally know any boxers or trainers?

Why you bothered about what I earned...bit skint are we? We can compare payslips if you like but i'm pretty certain I earn more then an office ****** as you describe yourself.. my job also allows me to meet famous people and do some pretty exciting things now and again.
