Top notch defense, good speed for his division, solid boxing skills, solid counter puncher, and experience vs elite comp the recipe is there it all comes down to execution.

Nobody oohs and awes about GGGs Combination punching like they do Canelo's!! Setting up your Combination sequence takes real skill and he has better combination punching Variety then GGG.. It's beautiful the way Canelo throws his faints and combinations. GGG can not throw a 4-2-3 Combination to save his life.:hi:

Fllacid Willie Monroe micht have a chance to beat Canelo himself in the eyes of the people viewing, not on the judges' cards.

Come on drenlou, judging by your ability to pick winners of matches, you're pretty much even with me, we both know what we're talking about, and you know just as well as I do that aside from the flashy combo punching, there's nothing that Canelo does better than GGG....nothing. You know exactly how that match would play out, Canelo would not be able to get away from GGG, and his shots would be parried and slipped all night, while GGG lands his jab and hooks to the body over and over and over, stopping Canelo in 8 or 9 rounds, and I'm being generous.

The thing is that Canelo throws punches in bunches all hard, very fluid and impressive by itself but that's not Golovkin's style, he mixes it up throwing light, heavy, whilst moving et cetera all to set up a big shot.

He's still trying to convince himself that GGG didn't just let him hit him. Strange how that always seems to be the case, featherfisted guys like Murray and Monroe land at will on GGG, but KO artists like Stevens and Lemieux never lay a hand on him.

I disagree. GGG blocks punches with his face, GGG has never fought a fighter like Canelo who is as sharp as a Kitchen Knife..:deal Canelo (really)slips punches and fires back with crisp combos upstairs and downstairs. GGG has great skills too, but to think GGG will stop Canelo in 8 or 9 rounds because hes knocked out the guys he was supposed too is crazy. This is Canelos era, and GGG is going to have to walk through Hell and back to beat Canelo. That much is certain!:bbb

Actually Canelo doesn't really do much, he's more of a counter puncher.Triple G would have gotten Cotto out of there within 8. Canelo seems fine fighting in bursts knowing that the judges will give him the round because he lands the harder punches. Also I think he's concerned about gassing out in the later rounds if he throws a lot of punches.

All cmon Man, Stevens hit him plenty with flush shots and even had him reeling in the 7th or 8th round, one of the only times GGG looked vulnerable.. Canelo is no stevens!
