I give you Willie Pastrano..a classic boxer/stylist vs the powerful and determined Dick Tiger. Scheduled for !5 rounds, as always.

Willie Pastrano was a kind of light heavyweight version of Joey Giardello. Slick boxer, good chin, tough. Joey split 4 fights with Tiger. Pastrano in my view, would take atleast 3 of four if not all 4. Tiger was really a middleweight and Pastrano a true 175 pounder. A really good LH should be able to handle a really good middleweight and i think Pastrano does in this case.

Bingo. Remember, Tiger, at the advanced age of 36 beat the man who beat Pastrano...twice...but that much said...Willie would beat the Tiger based on the classic, well known prescript of jab, jab..move...jab..move, ect., the way the two Joey's, Giardello and Archer both found success vs Tiger.

Pastrano's slickness and outside movement wins him this one imo.

Both fighters bare unfortunate first names. willie and dick, its damn joke, imagine promoting this figh "WILLIE VS DICK"

I do agree with this, he was a very slick boxer who could take it.

If he's on his game, I pick him to beat the legendary Tiger.

If not on his game, Tiger mauls him.

The only thing Willie Pastrano and Joey Giardello had in common was their Italian heritage. Pastrano was a true lightheavy version of young Ali,bouncing on his toes, jabbing away, always on the move because he was a light puncher. Giardello ,a middleweight, punched harder than Willie, and
used guile, rather than speed of foot, thereby conserving energy which allowed Giardello to be effective in his later years...Two different kettles of fish, were they....

Very good burt....that kind of breakdown is fascinating...the subtle difference between the two. I have been meaning to start a thread about the different kinds of defensive type boxers..
