how can anyone grease up and beat off to Mayweather as much as you do ? I picked Pep over your bf Mayweather , so get the **** over it. How can anyone be stupid enough to describe McFarland as a grabber ?? like you did .. since you just asked me you dont need to quote me twice .. Because I will tell you to go **** yourself every time Pep did fight Ray . whether you believe it or not ,,,, and there's footage of them in the ring together, whether you believe it or not and Pep looks like an Ant compared to him .. maybe not quite 40 pounds but it was 25-30 at least. ... but WTF ever, point is they fought and he lasted Willie continued, “Ray’s real name was Walker Smith. He wiped me out that night, and it was my only amateur loss. I was a flyweight at 105 pounds, and Sugar Ray, a welterweight.” they did fight you see
I will not stoop to your level of childish nastiness - but just inform you, that for their 1938 amateur fight Pep weighed 122 lbs, against 123 for Robinson. Believe it or not!
The footage your thinking of is their exhibition fight. There is no film footage of their amateur fight. In the amateur fight Robinson was 123 and Pep was 122. The exhibition fight I believe happened after both of their primes were long gone.
@Rubber Glove Sandwich is that Ray Robison and Pep at time stamp 2:30 or not? Or is that David and Goliath? they certainly dont look the same weight. Pep weighed 105 as he says in many interviews about this fight ... If I am wrong here that pep did weigh 122 ,, then I havent seen it yet .... they dont look the same size , looks to me he has him by 25 pounds easy but certainty not 40 But they did fight which was the premise of the conversation I was having with the other poster https://www.google.com/search?q=willie+pep+interview&sxsrf=APwXEdeRDJdtzsRanx5FAWFHFFYcQY3ktg:1687202839356&source=hp&ei=F6yQZL7LE_zAkPIPgqOsUA&iflsig=AOEireoAAAAAZJC6JwJAeGEQ2G-3bTiRIpHQ_WT8wl1W&ved=0ahUKEwj-spuviND_AhV8IEQIHYIRCwoQ4dUDCAk&uact=5&oq=willie+pep+interview&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAMyBQgAEIAEOgcIIxCKBRAnOgQIIxAnOg4IABCKBRCxAxCDARCRAjoLCAAQgAQQsQMQgwE6CwgAEIoFELEDEIMBOgsILhCABBCxAxCDAToICC4QigUQkQI6CAgAEIoFEJECOgUILhCABDoLCC4QgAQQxwEQ0QM6CAguEIAEENQCOgYIABAWEB46CAgAEIoFEIYDUABY4zhglzxoAHAAeAGAAfEEiAGuKZIBDDAuMTAuNS4yLjIuMZgBAKABAQ&sclient=gws-wiz#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:e22c9a9e,vid:quAvMC5DZPo
Yeah he's talking about the amateur fight. You can check yourself. No fight with Ray Robinson is on Pep's professional record. He had one amateur fight with him where they both near the featherweight limit and one exhibition fight in 1965. Pep is either misremembering or lying. Noticed how he said the Robinson fight was his only lost as amateur. Yet he has a lost to Earl Roy on his amateur record.
I think you are coming in late to this conversation. No one is saying they fought professionally.. We talked for awhile. I was afraid he would laugh at me if I asked him if he fought Sugar Ray Robinson. Finally I said, “Willie, there’s a rumor in town that you once fought Sugar Ray in Norwich.” Without hesitation he said, “That’s true. I fought him for the Du-Well A.C. It was 1938, and that fight was upstairs in a downtown building. Sugar Ray fought under the name of Ray Roberts. Ray always used that name when he fought in the amateurs.” Willie continued, “Ray’s real name was Walker Smith. He wiped me out that night, and it was my only amateur loss. I was a flyweight at 105 pounds, and Sugar Ray, a welterweight.”
I just posted the documentary about the fight ,, maybe you missed it ,, he was 105. time stamp 2:30 they talk about the night of the fight https://www.google.com/search?q=wil...#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:e22c9a9e,vid:quAvMC5DZPo
The thing is Mayweather can fight more then one way and that would and could give Pep problems. But I just don't know Willie always stuck to his boxing and he might be a little too much for Mayweather.
