Your not giving Pac any credit for his boxing abilities.

Question VOID as Pacquiao has never been 15 rounds.

Stylistically this is a very bad matchup for Pac, not to mention Pep was just a higher class of boxer.

I've heard people say the opposite though, that Pac's speed would be bad for Pep, but I'll take Pep's balance and footwork over Pac's straight forward style, which would lead to balance issues and problems getting set on his part. I'd take Pep to counter him silly for the majority of the bout, especially considering that we're dealing with a Featherweight Pac, who, while fitting the weight better, was not as skilled a technician as he's become in recent times.

    I'm giving him full credit.

Pac comes pretty straight. Mother's milk for Pep. I don't think Pep would win more than 2 or 3 rounds on all three cards.

I agree with that assessment but on the other poster was making it seem like he would dominate pac. I too think pep would win but I don't see him shutting him out.

I rate Pac very highly, one dimentional fighter, he has shown some range of versatility but nothin to take away from his well established one dimensional status. Anyhow, he is of the highest level of quality doing what he does imo. But i would like to say that in his first fight with JMM (at 126 remember) I personally thought after the first round some of what took place could be labelled schooling, JMM certainly made Pac look very inneffective at times, and that was not done with a defense as great as what he's facing here, technical proficiency yes, but not a defense of this ilk.

    Pep imo.

Pacquiao is very limited technically and lacks a true world class chin.

The chin probably would not be an issue in this bout, but the technical aspects of this fight, suggests Pep probably schools Manny.

    Pep WU15 (11-4)

Yeah, he hasn't been off his feat in years in any way shape or form while moving up through numerous weight classes and fighting an ungodly number of fighters that can bang.

    Lacks what?

Pacquiao's speed was clearly more evident against Diaz than any of his featherweight showings. I'd go as far to say that his hands were quicker than when he fought in any divisions south of featheweight. Even against Ledwaba and Mira. Just a case of letting your eyes do the work and not the usual "when fighters move up in weight they become slower" Not always the case.

Well said, as usual JG. Roach was right in describing Pacquiao as "ferocious". Ferocious fighters are difficult to manage --hell, anything ferocious is difficult to manage -whether it's a bull to a matador, a lion to a tamer, or a ballistic child to a parent. Pep will have to call on all of his skills to deal with Pacquiao but those skills would be enough. Pacquiao did indeed look foolish at times against Marquez as teeto said, and Pep's technique and finesse is greater than Marquez.

Pac will be trying too hard to punch at an autumn leaf swirling in an easy breeze.

Pep punched smoother and more fluid. But when it comes to basic technique though, he's not in Marquez's class. Certainly not when it comes to the fundementals of precise punching, leverage, and getting sufficient weight behind both hands. Pep's style was different to Marquez's. I think for Pep's particular and innovative style, he's as good as it gets.

When it comes to trainers teaching, raw basics, when it comes to the technical aspects of the game. The Marquez DVD gets kept in the drawer by the gym janitor, the Pep one gets tossed into the garbage can. Thats if one had to be choosen over the other.
