At a catch-weight, who wins? Would Willie be given credit for fighting his style if he fought Juan Diaz, or would he also be screwed by the Texan judge?:smoke
Why, is Paulie not deserving? Willie is a legend, yet he was just as human as Paulie at one time. I like this fight, Willie UD 15, yet has to fight for it.
Would be a very competitive fight, because of the size difference. Malignaggi weighs around 150lbs during fight night, whereas Pep still before scaled over superfeatherweight in his mid 30's. Also, Pep never beat a notable opponent over 135lbs. Hard to call.
Pep would win, on points. Malignaggi might be 140 or 150 pounds but he doesn't have the power. And his height and reach is nothing Pep hasn't encountered either. I dont see him posing Pep much trouble. It's a pure boxing match, and Pep knows more, he does it better, he's superior. No disrespect to Malignaggi and his abilities, but he's just up against a better boxer here.
Paulie would be taken to school and lose probably every round at this own game. Pep invented Paulie's game. After the fight, Paulie, out of respect, would volunteer to shine Willie's shoes but would bring him a cappuccino first. He'd also forbid anyone from wiping his gloves because he'd seek to preserve Willie's magical sweat.
Love this post! I think Paulie would have won rounds 12-15 in the olden times. which would have made the robbery for diaz still but the judges could have given all of those last rounds o paulie making the robbery "less noticable" which would have meant no rematch! Willie would have beaten Diaz by a more obvious spread, but no one can beat corrupt judging without a KO!
