What do you think the outcome would be between 2 of the greatest featherweights? The master slick boxer vs. the skilled boxer-puncher.

If Castillo can give Sal' problems with fast punching and a bit of movement Pep can totally befuddle him.

    Pep via decision.

Sanchez' height and skills give the shorter Pep fits... Pep was slick, but had little power and would not do well with a fit figher like Sal Sanchez at 126...... Sanchez beats Pep over 15 rds.....

I think pep would outbox Sanchez and have a comfortable lead after 12 rds. Sanchez was super cool/composed in his biggest fights so would have his moments and in no way would he be embarrassed here. Sanchez was one of those championship round fighters that benefited greatly from the 15 rd rules of the day. Pep however was also used to them. I do see Sanchez frustrating pep in these rounds and able to force the action a little more as the fight goes on but pep would do hold on through those tenuous moments and take a 10-5/9-6 type decision

Never thought of this one before - great, great matchup!

Pep's the obvious pick but Sanchez was a tremendous boxer. It'd hard to pick against Pep and a decision win for him is the most likely outcome but I think it would be very competitive and maybe closer than people think. Still, I'm going with Pep.

    Sal Sanchez 5' 6", 68" reach. Willie Pep 5' 5, 68" reach.
    (FYI: Sandy Sadler 5' 8-1/2", 70" reach).

Pep wins by UD, 2 out of 3 fights.

Sadler was taller, had longer arms, could fight a full 15 and hit harder then Sanchez, Willy often outjabbed him and won most of their exchanges, Salvador wouldn't do much better.

Much as I dig Sal Sanchez, this fight would have been won by the magical Willie Pep.

Good matchup. I'd take Pep in a close decision, but it wouldn't be easy.
