Not really, surely you don't have Mayweather below top 5 H2H @ 130.

Pep's defense was so materful at the time he actually won a round without throwing a single punch! I also heard that he predicted he would do it and did it more than once in his career.

If you watched Willie Pep footage and didn't soon come to the conclusion that he is among the most talented and skillful fighters of all time then there is something wrong with you. Let's see Floyd Mayweather Jr fight 9-10 times a year.

Is that your standard for greatness? And yes, Mayweather fought 18 times in his first 2 years as a pro and won a championship.

Pep was 43 years old and already had 240 fights at that point.

    Dumb argument.

    Are you kidding!?

Hey, did you ever think for a moment that this fight occurred when Pep was in his 40's, light years past his prime, and 240 fights into his career!? I'm a fan of Floyd, and I don't penalize him nearly as much as others on this site do for the quality of his opposition. Hell, I rate him easily among the top 5 130lb fighters of all time, and had him at number one the last time I checked, but I have a feeling that if Floyd was fighting at a regular clip for 25 years, and accumulated more than 240 fights by the end, he might drop a fight here and there too. It's bound to happen.

Christ on a pogo stick, it's people like you who give fans of Floyd a bad name. Seriously, why feel the need to tear down an irrefutably legendary fighter just to make your own favorite fighter look good?

Valid point, although it's a bit jarring to see someone post all in caps. Just letting you know...:good

    Non-comparable.

Willie Pep fought 241 times in the span of 26 years as a professional prizefighter. The reason I felt that was particularly important here was not because quantity of fights is necessarily a criterion for greatness, but because it would explain why Pep wasn't fighting world beaters every time out, something he seems to be getting criticized for by the TS. If Floyd Mayweather ever fought close to 10 times a year, you think he'd be fighting world beaters each time out? Common sense...let it prevail, Nas.
