Pep for me. That line one of the American commentators said always sticks out in my head 'against Barrera, Naseem was a counter-puncher with nothing to counter', i'd imagine that equals hell for him vs Pep.
Hamed was all over the place when he missed a shot there is a chance he swings ,misses and ko's himself,or, dies from embarrassment as he is made to look the complete prat he is.
I'd be watching Pep with pen and notebook in hand, while he uses Hamed as the unwilling subject of a disappearing act.
Hamed had great power in his left hand but he would struggle to land it against Pep, plus Naseem made too many mistakes for Pep to exploit. A very one rounded decision for Pep in my opinion.
i agree with the result of everyone else, but not how the fight plays out. hamed is one of those guys who simply doesn't have the resume to back up his talent or any claims that could be made of him. HOWEVER, i think his combination of speed, power and reflexes was absolutely frightening and this fight would turn into a chess match of feints, lunges and pot shots. pep IS in a different class entirely but hamed had the physical tools to give him pause and make him use every trick in the book. pep would win widely on rounds but a LOT of those rounds would be close
Jorodz I disagree. I think Pep is a stylistic nightmare for Hamed, his lunges would be meeting with fresh air, and he would be countered back pronto. His defence would cost him, as Pep could keep him off-balance with the jab, and feinting to get Hamed to commit then countering. Pep by TKO in round 5, as Hamed lunges in to get Pep, misses falls flat on his face and refuses to continue.
