how do you rate his wins compared to other ATGs? No doubt skillwise, he's probably after SRR the best ever P4P
Thought I would comment before this ATG slips off page 1 .. He averaged a fight every 6 weeks for 26 years. 7 years into it, he nearly dies in a plane crash, fracturing his back, leg, and is basically in a full body cast. Recovers from that and to go on to accomplish what he did ... Toughness like that died many years ago unfortunately in boxing
Great thread topic! I would definitely put him in the top tier of all time greats. He is an example of an all-time great who actually exceeded my expectations when I finally got to watch live footage. Unfortunately, I have not been able find A good end of biography about him in print.
What makes it all the more impressive is that a very high percentage of those fights went the distance. Fighting that amount of rounds in that time span is ridiculous.
