I think you might be right Lee Mc... More arsed about reputation that about an amazing amount of greenbacks they could use to develop UK Tennis or buying mulitudes of Pimms and Cucumbers...:yep
I would love to see this but have wimbledon ever done a non tennis show? Apart from the cliff richard mini concerts.
People who couldn't get into centre court could watch the fight from Harrisson hill/Fury foothill/Maccarinelli mound/Hide hillop/Limond ledge...delete as approriate.
I think that Maccarinelli Mound sounds great...:good What about "Hatton Heap" in the wake of his KO by Pac Man...:yep
Great venue for sure. Put some big screens above the ring and we are a go. PS - at first I thought you meant the ****ing shopping centre. I love near W'don so a fight being held there would be IDEAL.
Here it is: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=168116 No doubt it would be a good idea, but it would never happen, IMO:good. I sure did and now I concede that it is a good idea:good.
It would be a great venue but the LTA would never allow it..plus like someone mentioned the grass needs to be maintained and kept 100%. I only mentioned football stadiums because they are the more common option..due to the capacity. But it makes for **** viewing imo.
its wimbolden tradition the boxers would have to wear all whites, inc white boxing gloves. also have that strict gentlemanly manner (code of conduct -penaltys), thats already a no no! for Ricardo Mayorgca :nono
i've been at the centre court and it is the most amazing vantage point i've ever seen at a stadium , you have no idea it holds that number. Take the MEN for example about 16k capacity but you may as well not bother going if your not very near the ring. At wimbledon you'd still feel on top of the action at the back ... saying all that no way would the establishment let it happen but what a shame
Yeah to be honest it could do. You look at these local leisure centers that hold shows and there not all that big at all nor are they really up to great standards so i agree with you on that.
