Being in the position he's been able to create for himself at such a young age, the fact that he wants to take on the toughest competition, in an era where everyone is avoiding everyone, and everyone's eyes are on their next check, is great. And a pleasure to behold. I wouldn't call him a cash cow yet, but with the star that he has, he's still willing to fight the best. His competition has been on an upward trajectory since the Josesito fight.

He fought Trout fresh off of beating Cotto.
He fought Floyd off the Guerrero masterclass
    And now he's fighting Lara.

Say what you want about his skills, but you can't question his hunger, desire to be great, or respect for the fight game.

Im behind him, he has my support because guys like that are good for the sport. Guys who are in the penthouse, that still have living-in-your-moms-basement hunger.

Shout out to Canelo. Win or lose, a true champ.

He reminds me of the great Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. that man fought everyone in his era.

Both deserve respect. I'm just giving Canelo props because in the era of promoters and politics ruining the sport, he's going out of his way to fight the best available.

Lara deserves respect, but he's a guy trying to make a name for himself. I don't know if he would take the tough fights he does if it he were a PPV star. Most of them don't.

Which is why I give Cinnamon Toast Punch credit.

Canelo has heart but he has to be pushed in the right direction. If he wins this fight with Lara, I would like to see him clean out 154 because there is a lot of talent there that would enhance and prepare him for his step up to 160. If he fights Cotto( which he should) it should be at 154 but I wouldn't squawk if it's at 160. That's just too much money to let get away.
