I think Amir Khan is a shining example that all todays boxers should aspire to....i really respect the guy and the sportsman. He is getting straight back on the horse and is not afraid to mix it up with the best and never ducks anyone. Not only that but he has an exciting style and always comes to fight. Respect to Amir Khan.
Khan is never in a dull fight and will fight anyone and anywhere, says some dumb things some times but generally seems a good guy, cant understand the hate for him,the fact that he's vunerable makes him more exciting..
That's just for him, may be. But for the fans, its otherwise. How many boxers today takes up challenge, against how many cherry pick to add numbers? Respect Khan for his willingness to fight the best.
Lots of respect for him. Fought a dangerous Maidana then when e couldn't get Bradley to fight him (like they previously agreed they would after Maidana/ Alexander) wentand fought Peterson. Could have sat down and fought no hopers while waiting for a Mayweather fight but he wanted to prove him self.
Khan has weaker legs than chin. He was caught good behind the ear and Morales knows how hard Garcia can hit, yet of the two it was Amir who finished the fight on his feet, actually fighting back well on jelly legs. The main thing missing wasn't a chin or good recovery - the shots he took without going down were huge - but any sign of defensive improvement under Roach. His legs were always Khan's defense, and when Garcia took them, the only thing Amir could ever do was fighting back, and it's no good when your opponent has you timed. That is why I was highly critical of the choice upon the first rumor of hiring Freddy, terrible style match-up for a fighter with a problematic chin and legs. Still, the clear headed nature at every moment in the fight tells me it's rather his legs that couldn't handle the power, not the chin.
khan doesnt endear himself to fans with his attitude, but i agree 100% he deserves full props for doing what hatton did, crossing the pond, and finding out how good he really is
Fighting back is he only thing his legs allow him when hurt, because he can't clinch, can't defend himself up close and can't move away.
I should of mentioned that I am talking more about his fighting heart and warrior spirit rather than his chin...
I think Khan is one of the most uncomplete fighters that headlined lots of cards on HBO. Virgil said Khans ex trainers (esp Oliver Harrison) were so impressed by his natural abilities that they never focussed on instilling the fundamentals in him and building him up. Add to that a below average chin and it's a credit to Khan fight in and out he entertains us regardless of his apparent limitations. I have a bad feeling for tonight.
