    Thoughts??

He still has the linear lightweight title ... along with the WBO/WBA straps ... he's in line to have a mandatory of Katsidis vs Escobedo winner ... which will better suit him if when he loses. There's also more accomplished fighters, that he can probably take advantage of.

But there's also the possibility of fighting Pac in a rematch (should Pac lose to Cotto) for the linear light welterweight title.

or Fight someone at welterweight ... and depending on how he does against Floyd, I don't see any reason for him not to fight at welterweight ... its more money and bigger fights ... and no matter what he can still defend that ring magazine lightweight title if he gets to overwhelmed.

I'd say it depends on how well he does against Floyd

depends on how he does,I think he can't go back down to 135, it will do damage to his body....he could be a beast at 140 IMO

He should go down to 140. He might have been able to beat a smaller, lighter-hitting welter like Mayweather, but he might be outgunned against bigger more natural welterweights. No need for him to take the risk when a win over Floyd could set up a mega 3rd fight against Pacquiao which could easily take place at jr. welter.

Dropping the added muscle he's built up for Mayweather to get down to 135 again might be ill advised for JMM. He's already stated that he was planning to move to 140 after Diaz and of coarse is moving all the way up to 144 to oblige Mayweather's demands. I suspect that he'll indeed settle into 140lbs after the Mayweather bout where the potential opponents won't completely dwarf him.

Depends if Pac wins next and if they want it at 147 or 140. I'm sure JMM is willing to go anywhere he's asked to.

Valero, Bradley, Campbell and Ortiz are opponents he can still beat.

Personally ... when he loses to PBF ... it wouldn't be wise for him to fight a guy like Edwin Valero ... he stuggled for the early part against Diaz and i'm convinced that Valero is much stonger and a whole lot faster. He's too explosive and would blow JMM out the frame ... he wouldn't give Marquez enough time to adjust, once he has him hurt, he would finish him.

Bradley - I don't respect, he's an awesome boxer, but has no power ... sort of the blk version of Paul Malignaggi ... I don't think he'd be able to get JMM respect and would probably lose a close decision. I'm not a fan of Bradley ... I think he would get knockout by someone like Torres, Valero, Ortiz, Maidana, and Alexander !!

Ortiz would be no competition - unless GBP were planning on robbing him like they did Malignaggi.

I agree he did look a little loose around the waist during 24/7 and I imagine that he's probably at weight already !!
He may tone up, but he looked big at 135 ... who knows ... he may have to rely on his ring smarts and experience to carry him through. 50+ fights compared to 39 fights.

140- There's couple of big fights at 140 with him. Hatton-marquez would be huge- bradley would be a good challenge for him too. He has nothing left to prove at 135 unless he fights valero. That's the only fight i could see him taking at 135.

If he wins or loses competitively, stay at 140. If he loses clearly or gets destroyed, then try to go back to lightweight.

140 will be where he goes next. He won't go below that again. He should fight Bradley next, or Pacquiao if he loses to Cotto.
