Just got this idea from Anarci's thread and wanted to see the Classic's opinion on it, and see if it would be as one sided as I think it is or will most vote the other way.

Erik Morales victory over Manny Pacquiao is more impressive to me. Erik was past his best, and he defeated a far superior fighter in Manny than Barrera had done against Hamed in 2001. Barrera was more dominant in his win, but there's a class distinction somewhat.

Yeah I agree with everything you said. I could never get why Barrera who I would say is slightly better than Morales if I was forced to choose wasn't able to be more competitive against Pacquiao.

Barrera no doubt underestimated Pacquiao the first time around. He was fighting a one-dimensional power puncher who was moving up a division. Manny hadn't been near a ring with anyone remotely as good as Marco, Barrera knew it, and wasn't prepared for the **** storm that was about to come his way. Morales and Marquez were both preparing for a fighter who was considered to be among the best on the planet, and who they had previously seen take Barrera apart.

You can also consider that Marco is a left handed fighter who has always had problems with fighters who were faster than him. Junior Jones was able to land consistently, which resulted in his first professional defeat. If you watch Pacquiao's most competitive bouts, he seems to be getting hit with right hands more than anything else. Morales and Marquez both possessed straight right hands, whereas Barrera was more of a left hooker.

I don't believe Barrera was fully prepared, and he hates being taken out of his comfort zone. He probably never would have beat Manny.

I started the Valuev thread. I've since been banned from making threads. That's right: I made a Christ-like sacrifice for ESB.

    I am the resurrection.

Dude, I can't even have a signature!!!!!! I can't be invisible either. I just stay logged in so I don't have to type in my password. I don't get it. Sauerland must have his fingers in the ESB pie. That son of a *****. It's okay though. SNV is forever now....

Nonsense. Styles make fights. Even if you weren't talking complete rubbish and Morales was slightly better than Barrera, that still doesn't account for such dramatic differences in results. I think Morales was more successful because he knew what fighter he was preparing for, whereas Pacquiao was something of an anomaly when moving up to the Featherweight division. He was good, but we didn't know just how good. We were going to find out.

 Sounds like Freddy and co. are doing their best to shift you to another forum. They don't want you here. This makes no sense to me considering how much of a riot you've proven yourself to have been over the course of the last 3-4 months. You're like a Boxed Ears clone...it's spooky. I'm spooked.

No, man. No. We're not clones. We're just simpatico. I'll tell you the difference right now: Boxed knows boxing better than me. There. I said it. He does. But I bring something else to the table. Something mind-boggling...

Awwww, look out!!! It's crazy skater dude!!!!!!
