Winky 2003 vs Pacquiao 2010 @154 who wins ???

Remember how much frustration sam soliman caused winky? Soliman an akward volume puncher. Well imo pac is a lvl above that.

 

Winky, unlike /Clottey, would throw punches. He would control him with the jab and wrap Pacquiao up on the inside.

 

Might as well ask about Pavlik at 160 while you're at it.

When are people gonna learn to stop picking against Pac based on "size". Just look at the threads back, the idea of Pac beating Hatton & Cotto was more ridiculous back then than this proposed question now.

 

Are you Pacquiao fans huffing paint? first he can walk through Mayweather, now he can beat Winky Wright at 154? How about Hopkins at 160 and Calzaghe at 168 while we are at it?

 

So I take it you were one of these guys laughing at the notion of Pac fighting Hatton & Cotto, yet alone winning, yet alone destroying them...

 

Winky actually throws he is not afraid.
Also would Winky be getting paid off also or is he trying to win.

 

Size doesn't really matter here because Winky was often the smaller man, so didn't know how to use it to his advantage. Against Pacquiao, he would fight the same as he did against stronger guys like Vargas.

Winky was a very, very good fighter back then. I think the only thing which makes this interesting, is that Pacquiao has a good advantage stylewise. His movement would give him lots of angles against Winky and the returning ramrod jab, wouldn't land easily. It may be a case that Pacquiao's in-out movement could really cause Winky lots of problems, though it's hard to clearly pick any 154lber in history over Wright at that weight, because he really was that good.

 

Sorry, he as never the best fighter. He has the same cover up style, bring his hands down to look then punch. He also pushes his jab out there and is quite slow.

Watching that, I am convinced Pac will do a number on him. Sorry but id give Cory Spinks at 154 when he was younger a better chance at Pac than Winky. Winky's style again is tailormade for Pac. It wont be Pac-Clottey, Pac will actually get out after his flurries because he will actually expect a punch.
