He was never serious about it. I remember reading he wanted limits on how much winky could weigh on fight night, even think it was he had to be 154 on fight night. I tried to ask winky the specifics but he just summarized it up as you said, floyd was never serious about it, it was after the mosley wins when winky was getting attention and everyone was mentioning him.

Floyd UD ... one thing we know about Winky is that he's not knocking anyone down let along knocking them out. It would've turned into a boxing match with Floyd fighting with two hands and Winky fighting with one.

Floyd also called out Winky Wright ... I'm tired of hearing that size matters ... size doesn't matter ... the better fighter will win no matter what advantages or disadvantages you think he may have. Winky isn't faster ... he's often flat footed walking forward ... he doesn't have power ...

    .............
Shortly after fighting Gatti, Mayweather issued a challenge to Winky Wright who defeated Felix Trinidad a month earlier after beating Shane Mosley in their rematch in November of 2004. At that time I wrote for another entity and said Mayweather was just trying to get attention and had no intention of ever fighting Wright. None whatsoever. Stating that Floyd would get out of the fight by making outrageous demands that Wright would never accept. Only Mayweather was wrong and Wright did accept his terms knowing he'd do exactly to Mayweather what Floyd just did to Marquez. Winky knew his size and strength would neutralize Mayweather's speed and skill set. Once Wright agreed to accept the ridiculous deal, surprise, Mayweather turned a deaf ear and went another direction and fought Sharmba Mitchell.

winky is a 1 dimensional come foward fighter, and to say that floyd couldn't beat him is absurd. PW shut winky out their whole fight, and winky NEVER adjusted. PW's akward style and boxing from angles is what gave winky fits. so, do you actually think floyd wouldnt give winky fits? you're mad if you dont. floyd will outbox winky from start to finish.

    Interesting fight.

    How do you beat Mayweather?

    How would Winky beat him?

How would Mayweather win this fight?

at 154, winky has a crazy jab, perfect to keep floyd off-balance and would totally shut off his already conservative offense. Winky walks mayweather down or chases him all over the ring and wins a boring decision

you're stupid. Winky is strong and held his ground against Jermain Taylor. When he fought Mosley the first time, he trashed him like a rag doll and walked him down all over the ring. He ain't one-dimensional, maybe you haven't seen him fight yet. He has the best jab in boxing. His jab alone snet trinidad snapping backwards over and over lol. that jab alone could beat mayweather, seeing how dela hoya almost jabbed mayweather out each time he remembered using the jab in their fight. And Winky has a very good defense opens up only when he throws a jab, something mayweather wouldn't be able to take advantage of. and yeah mayweather could beat winky if he stood 6'3 with long arms and a horse-like work rate like Paul williams lol

I would like to know HOW PBF could win this fight? You KNOW Winky will be noticeably busier. He'll stay behind that impregnable defense and just pump that jab. And prime Winky wasn't the stationary target he is now. He could move on his feet in and out.

Really, what can PBF do? You really can't counter a jab, at least not Winky's. PBF would be seriously outworked. Maybe embarrassed at times.

PBF talked **** about fighting Wink, yet when it came time to get serious he came up with all types of BS stipulations. He didn't want any of Wink at 154

Floyd doesn't fight well at 154. He's way too stationay. Winky, and a whole **** load of other past and current great 154 pounders would own his ass.
