If i remember correctly Floyd called him out when he moved to welter and Winky was at middle. I was a big Floyd fan then but I even thought he was in over his head. A great matchup between two defensive geniuses. Winky has a better jab, blocking, out put. Floyd has the foot speed, hand speed, counters, leaning, use of the ring and possibly combos. Wrights size, height, and reach and their use of them maybe the diffference here. I'll take Winky over 12 in a great display of pure boxing
Winky wright was great fighter and very underrated, but I don't think he beats Floyd. He beat guys like Tito, and Mosley with the jab becasue they don't know how to adapt when the fight isn't going in their favor. Winky's right jab would be a great weapon since Floyd is used to counter over the top left jabs, but I think Floyd is too skilled, and fast and would pull out the UD.
:rofl:rofl:rofl Winky hadnt fought in 2 years and he was 37. It was clear his timing and snap was not what it used to be. Williams threw over 1000 punches and only landed 200 something but he won by activity. PBF vs Winky 4 years ago would be nothing like that fight. Floyd doesnt throw 1000 punches and winky wasnt 37 years old. Hey maybe Danny Williams could beat a prime Ali. I saw Ali struggle with this guy Leon Spinks. If Spinks can beat Ali then Danny Williams can.
Floyd only just got by an old, inactive DLH at the weight, and looked rubbish doing so. Prime Winky at 154 would beat Mayweather quite comfortably, IMO.
Fernando is a natural 154lb, and Winky didn't employ a peek-a-boo style in that fight. He simply brawled with Vargas, going punch for punch. He wasn't defensively irresponsible but he wasn't pressuring behind high tight guard the way he started to after that fight. And one should also note that before the Vargas fight Winky used his legs and fought like a cutey southpaw mobile boxer. So Winky has several styles himself that PBF would have to deal with possibly.
