I think Wink could be a great MW....but for some reason I don't think he'd have as easy a time with PAV that Hop did at 170. Not that I buy in to the excuses that PAV and his camp had with the elbow injury, the bronchitis or what have you...but I do think PAV could have preformed much better in there with Hop...but for some reason he didn't have his best night....with that said...I still think Bhop would have beaten PAV pretty handidly regardless if we saw the ABSOLUTE Best PAV that night. At 160 its a whole new ball game and a fight with PAV and Wink would be great...I'd give my edge to PAV only b/c I feel PAV is at his best at 160 and Wink is at his best at 154. I think it will be close but PAV would edge it. But who knows...you never want to count Wink out.

I know what you meant. :good

Winky is my of my all time favs. I hope he does great things. I think him and Pavlik is a toss up due to their styles but i see Winky completely outclassing nearly everyone else at MW.

Winky Wright is a defensive minded guy... Tight defense, throws a solid quick jab and is content with just doing that.... He would still beat most of the top middleweights...

As for him beating Pavlik.... i think that fight could go either way... But I'm leaning towards Pavlik being that Pavlik has the ability to outwork Winky and in the process land effective shots...

AA has that tight defense like Winky does... Both guys aren't known for their high workrate... Not sure how this pans out....

Depends on how he looks in this fight. After being gone for over a year since losing, we don't really know.

Winky doesn't have the footwork and movement to confuse Pavlik like Hopkins did. Winky's shell defense may be a bad thing against a guy like Pavlik, but if Winky is still able to perform at roughly the same level as he did at his best, I could see him defeating Pavlik, He would probably outwork Abraham as well, AA is quick and powerful, but lazy at times and doesn't have a jab on level of what Wright's was. It will be interesting to see how the final part of his career unfolds.

But AA has a wide right hand... the one punch that can get around that turtle shell....

Good post Cobra. For awhile I had some conflict over Wright and Abraham and the #2 and #3 spot at 160; who goes in which spot? Winky's inactivity caused me to ultimately put him at #3. Now that he is getting active, and assuming Winky still has something left in the tank, I'll place him at #2. You're right about the jab. I think Winky's long ass arms and sharp jab spell real trouble for AA. With Winky's jab and defense opportunities for AA to land his big right hand would be few and far between.

Pavlik/Wright could turn out a few different ways. If Winky fought a super cautious fight, we could see KP beating on Winky's guard for 12 rounds. I think if Winky tried to open up and make a real fight of it, Pavlik would have almost no respect for Winky's punching power, or lack there of, and would hand him a pretty good beating.

In any event Pavlik's loss to Hopkins could be good for the middleweight division. If Pavlik had won, he wouldn't need either of these guys. Now I think he needs them both, and that could make for some interesting fights.

The future of the division looks interesting. Unless he is basically done as a fighter and far too past it to compete at this level anymore, I could see Winky coming out on top for a short while, but he's already 36 and I don't believe he will be hanging around for more than 3, maybe 4 more years. Every fight that can be made between the three is highly intriguing to me, all of the match-ups are close and because of each man's style one fighter could beat one but lose to the other. Hopefully, Winky gets a few more nice wins under his belt and can secure his place in the HOF and meet these two in the ring before he retires, and then Pavlik and Abraham duel it out for dominance of the division (maybe a rivalry and series of fights).

The clash of styles is VERY significant. You'r right; we could end up with Winky losing to one and beating the other, et. That would leave us with no clearly dominate guy, and require a second round of fights. It would have to happen pretty quick, because mother nature will move KP and AA out of the diviiosn before long, and even if both fighters lost to Winky, father time will be kickin' his ass pretty quick.
