You gotta love the Margaritas on this forum. They haven't even attempted to jot down some analysis or points to back up their claim. Margo throws alot and from all angles, alot of people thought another guy who did that gave Winky a tough fight....Sam Soliman, but these guys must've missed that. Clottey has a similar style with the high guard and had success against Margo, but Margo also had some success against him.....they might want to look into that and piece together an argument. It would still be a "losing argument" but at least it would be interesting

 

Someone claimed he turned down an easy $3mil to fight Margo.....I was just pointing out that IF in fact that were true it wouldn't be surprising because he is known for not making smart decisions. It doesn't mean at all that he thought Margo would beat him. :good

Your not picking Winky based on his skills today your thinking of the Winky of yesterday who beat a shot Trinidad, the same Winky who beat up a miget in Shane Mosley and gave glass jaw vargas a run.

Winky is an old man, his skills yes they are a factor but not against a guy like Margarito, **** no, Winky will be in the fight but he sure will not win it.

 

Actually stylistically I'd give Ike Quartey a good chance of schooling Margo at 154.

Margo cannot push Winky back. Winky will stand his ground and pepper Margo with 1-2's and the occasional right hook to the head and body. When Margo moves in, Winky will push him off with his forearms and continue the pasting. When Margo learns he cannot find Winky's head he will go for the body, but this will mean he has to move his hands away from his head. Have you ever seen Winky fight???? his hands are right in front of his face, he throws short quick and accurate shots, he doesn't need to wind up or load up on any shots and his hands are always in position to fire. Margo will get countered terribly as he tries to go for the body. They will not be shots that KO him, but with Winkys size and strength even with his lack of gas in his punches they are still enough to disrupt your rhythm and keep you off balance all night.

 

You're a delusional fanatic. Top Rank offered Wright 4 mill(after Wright said he would fight him for $8 mill) when Winky was at MW and could get more for a rematch with Taylor. Once that fell through, Winky offered Margo 1.5 mill for a fight at 154. Top Rank quickly turned it down. The reason for this is simple, they used Winky to build up Margo's name. They had no intention of ever fighting him. If Margo is struggling with the likes of Santos, Williams, and Clottey, no way in hell he stands a chance against Wright.

 

This fight, much like Pavlik vs Hopkins, much like Tito vs HOp/wright was, would be like throwing a pitbull in the ocean with a shark. His teeth and strength of bite are still very much there, but he will never get the leverage and positioning to use them.
