Winky offered less than $1M for Pavlik

They offer $1million, Winky turns it down, then the Pavlik camp can argue that they offered Winky a fight if people start saying that he ducked Wright.

I think they offered $1.2 million, same as they offered everyone else. Actually Top Rank and Team Pavlik have called Winky out numerous times. At one point Arum tried to get Winky to make a fight with Sturm so that a Pavlik/Wright fight would be a unification bout. Winky never followed through.

Arum is just blowing it all the way around ever since Pavlik beat JT. Unfortunately Pavlik probably feels a strong sense of loyalty to Arum for getting him to the top, but personally I think Pav should consider reaching out to some other promoters.

 

They can't offer much more because Pavlik draws flies and Winky's no longer a popular fighter either.

 

With all due respect to WR, he does not have a large following and most of his fights are boring. Considering his age and overall position in the division and the above, he should take the offer in a heart bit.

That is just a personal preference. While I absolutely respect WR's boxing skills, his lack of power is an absolute turn off for me, and probably for a very large number of boxing fans out there as well.

 

**** Winky. Thats what happens when you think you're worth more than you are. If he had KO power it his career might've turned out differently.

Team Palle a couple of weeks ago reported thy had offered Winky $1 mill. and Winky said he was very interested but wanted more. They upped it to $1.33 mill but Winky still declined.

No wonder he would decline less to fight Pavlik.

I think that it's quite simple really. If Winky is worth what he claims to be just have him fight someone else and prove it. If he can land a fight with someone (other than DLH) and make more than 1 million then sure he deserves it. I seriously doubt he can at this point of his career though.
