Winky vs Pavlik has fight of the YEAR ALL OVER IT!!

I hope this doesn't go the way of Winky/Trinidad...on second thought. Not a chance. This will go badly if Winky steps out of his peekaboo and I can't see him changing his style either at this point in his career.

Not fight of the year. But maybe KO of the year?

 

The real question is this: Can a 36 year old Winky Wright, fighting above his best weight, win 7 rounds while fighting off the back foot and avoiding pavlik's right hand, uppercut, and left hook? Not likely.

Measuring a fights outcome by a common opponent does not always lead to solid conclusions. However, in this case we have two common opponents, and a total of 7 fights: Winky/McKart X 3, Taylor/Wright, Pavlik/McKart, Pavlik/Taylor X 2. Stop and think about how Winky handled McKart and Taylor compared to how Pavlik handled them. The most likely outcome of Pavlik/Wright is a Pavlik TKO in 10 or 11 rounds.

I wouldn't expect it as fight of the year either . . . but more interesting and action filled than the Bhops/Winky. :yep
