Winky Wright does want Pavlik

Wouldn't mind seeing this. Winky's had enough time to recover. Interesting stylistic match-up.

 

Very interesting style clash indeed. Had this fight happened in the fall of 2008 when KP and Top Rank wanted it, we would have had the privledge of watching an offensive machine take on a defensive master. For hard core fans it doesn't get any better than that.

edit to note...that was ****ing awful despite the fact that you don't post at all on boxing despite this being a boxing forum which is kind of creepy, all you do is stalk these pav threads and hate on pav and a couple of his fans on here, you do sometimes have some funny lines. that wasnt one of them. tighten up.

 

i agree it would have been great to see it then. the winky that fought tito and taylor isnt the same winky of today. that's not to say my fellow floridian doesnt still have a lot of fight left in him, but he did look a bit like his legs didnt really have the spring in them they had when he was backing taylor up. he looked a bit stationary against ptp and that's not a good thing against pav...especially when you don't punch very hard. no matter how good your defense is, you stand in front of kelly at mw its going to be a long night (or short night )

having said that...if kelly is going to fight someone ptp has already beaten in light of the fact that paul and sturm are out of the picture it seems...id rather see a long overdue winky fight than a fight against martinez.

Good for you, but from the fans' perspective, he's boring as ****. I liked Winky when he was aggressive, but he looked terrible against PW and is getting older by the day. He's done.

 

actually, he has had a few funny pavlik jokes. the tussin on the hand joke was funny.

If you want to fight Staphlic you'll have to get in line and wait behind the likes of Espino, Rubio and Lockett.

 

Rubio? Sorry pal, but Rubio was a WBC mandatory who earned the right to fight by winning a legitimate title elminator.

Lockett? WBO mandatory, and an Enzo Calzaghe fighter. Everyone who is smart enough to tell the difference between cat **** and apple butter knows that fight was part of trying to set-up a calzaghe fight. To bad Slappy Joe ran the other way after he spent 6 months calling Pavlik out.

Espino? Pretty simple to figure this one. Anyone who can read at a 3rd grade level knows what that one was all about.

Winky has turned Pavlik down at least 4 times. The last time winky turned Pavlik down, Williams turned him down as well, and Pavlik moved up two divisions and fought Hopkins.

Stick to the facts, or shut the **** up.

I don't know if you are talking about Winky or Kelly here, but it doesn't matter. Maybe the mods will let you change your handle from The Joker to The Fool?

 

Sadly, if he can't fight Sturm, Martinez or PW it's probably the best fight out there. And since they don't like each other...why not?
