Winky Wright, great fighter or good fighter?

Great, using the word great in a pretty modest way.

 

I think he's a great fighter.

 

Winky's an incredible fighter. Maybe not talked about so much because his style is based on defence and he was ducked throughout his career - as well as the fact he's not fought in over a year. But the guy was THE best defensive boxer of his generation, and when he managed to get the big fights he was superb. Beat prime Mosely twice, shut out Trinidad. A better question would be HOF or ATG.

 

Great fighter at 154, but still very good at 160.

Good fighter, good career. Far from spectacular though, in an historical sense anyway. Not what I'd classify a real great by any standard.

 

he was very good fighter close to great. beating mosley and tito is big in my eyes

not debateable that Winky Wright is a great fighter...not a popular fighter especially for his skillset, but that shouldn't count against his ability and accomplishments

 

Definately a great fighter.
