He is definitely a skilled and savvy veteran with a great defense and much avoided, but he has not accomplished anything to the level of HOF or ATG

No question. Beat Mosley twice, embarassed Trinidad, drew against Taylor in a fight many thought he won. Lost a close but clear decision to a bigger Hopkins. Lost a fight with Vargas that could have gone either way and has some other pretty good wins at 154.

He is top 5 ever at 154 and probally a top 100 ATG.

His 2 wins over Mosley and his 1 win over Trinidad do not constitute HOF or ATG status

I voted "HOF only" with hesitation.

His resume looks decent on paper but I'm not sure how the HOF treats wins over past-their-prime boxers(in this case Tito and Quartey):huh

I saw that fight with Vargas, and Wright won that fight. It was just that Vargas was this upstart young champion who all of sudden would be derailed by a slick journeyman that not too many people knew, and the judges would rather give the nod to the new upstart champion. Vargas was setting himself up with bigger fights against Trinidad and De La Hoya in the future, and was looking passed Wright in this fight. Everyone was looking passed Wright in this fight, because Vargas was suppose to be the next big star. This was my first time seeing Vargas or Wright fight also. I remember the ring entrance of Vargas. He had a white tiger in a cage next to him, but unfortunately no one in the crowd could see it, because of the angle. Only those on t.v. could see the caged white tiger. Anyhow, it was a very good fight, but a lot of people including myself felt that Wright won that fight by a slight edge. It was also before Wright develop that high-guard defense with a quick jab.

For me, Wright is HOF and ATG. He's beaten Mosely twice convincingly and at Mosely's prime, beat a prime Trinidad, beat a passed prime Ike Quartey (but still dangerous), and drew to a prime Jermaine Taylor where Wright moved up in weight. He also fought but lossed to Hopkins, and moved up in weight for that fight also. He has a pretty good record also. You can't say he ducked anyone.

I scored the fight for Vargas, add to that losses to Simon and Vasquez and that almost neutrilized the wins over a faded Tito and Quartey!

Which makes his two wins over Mosley his highest accomplishment:think

I give Wink all the props in the world for pulling off the big upset a couple of times, but seriously people, is that all it takes these days for someone to be considered a HOFer let alone an ATG?! Most people didn't even hold Wink in high regard as a champ until he beat Mosley, so if he is an ATG then he has accomplished that feat faster than anyone who came before him.

he's HOF worthy and I'll also call him an ATG junior middleweight.

Name one fighter 154 lbs. and lower that can beat Winky Wright? I don't think anyone can beat his high guard defense with quick jabs. He's also a naturally bigger guy, and has a GREAT chin. He let power-punching Ike Quartey take free shots at him. Same thing with Trinidad.

Just because there are no CURRENT 154lbers or SMALLER fighters who will beat him doesn't make him an ALL-TIME great nor a HOFer. He is a greatly skilled, defensive fighter and was the best at 154 for a time, but I really think we are diminshing the prestige of the ATG moniker and placing anyone with a belt and a couple of big wins into the HOF.

Who else does Winky have to fight to prove ATG status? Does he fight PBF, ODLH, Vernon Forrest, Mayorga, a Vargas rematch? He can beat all these guys today. He's like fine wine. He's gotten better over time, while everyone else has degraded. Perhaps the only fighter that can beat him at 154 lbs. or lower is Vernon Forrest. He's got the height, skill, and speed. Whether that's still good enough, I don't know.

biggest accomplishment: beating Mosley who did NOTHING at 154. He got a controversial win over DLH while on roids.

Winky is a HOF, but definitely not an ATG. Lets check the big fights:

    Mosley I- UD
    Mosley II- UD
    Trinidad- UD
    Vazquez- LOSS
    Simon- LOSS
    Hopkins- LOSS
    Quartey- LOSS
    Taylor- DRAW

this is the resume of an ATG? dont be ridiculous...

he "can" he "could" he "would"

Maybe he should quit all his ****ing whining and actually do it then. Until then, I dont ever want to see the words "winky" and "atg" in the same sentence w/o the word "not" in between.
