Wright resume would been way better if he could have got a decision win over Vargas in which i thought Wright got robbed. But in his career? I think he's worthy of a hall of fame. He defeated Mosley twice and win a shut out over Trinidad.

I agree but he'll be in the hall of fame because he mostly make exciting fights. But i agree he shouldn't be in it cause he never beat a great fighter.

I think he's a great fighter. Learnt his trade travelling overseas and fighting, unified titles at 154 and should have got another title at 160.

I always hoped he could fight Oscar, and whoop that ass.

Only bad thing is that he became a bit of a prima donna late in his career. But as it stands it's still a very good record.

Boxing puts everyone into the hall of fame, it's not really a measure of ATG status.

I never found Winky to be boring - he was a pressure fighter who walked you down and dared you to do something about it. He just happened to have limited power and an amazing defense.

Always put me to sleep. Did well against fighters too dumb to go to the body and turn him.

Winky will be remembered as a good B+ fighter, just on the brink of being great. As somewhat else stated he mismanaged the twilight of his career, co-promoting his bouts and demanding higher purses than his stature and fanbase would allow.

He'll only be regarded by boxing fanatics like us. It's hard not to have a high opinion of him.

i believe he was robbed in the Vargas fight, and had he won that fight, i believe he would've fought Trinidad or Quartey next, and beat Trinidad (prime had nothing to do with his win over Trinidad, although its a tossup against Quartey) and than still had the wins over Mosley a few years later?????
    damn, THATS a resume there

Yea i'm tired of some people say Wright easily shut down a "past prime " Trinidad. <<<Did anybody say that when Trinidad easily destroyed Mayorga?

exactly, i hate that "past prime" excuse in general, its a bull**** excuse, because obviously the fighter themselves doesnt believe he's "past prime" because no one goes into a fight thinking negatively, or at least should'nt

In my opinion anyone who found Winky "boring" really ought to find a new sport to follow. Boxing isn't their game.

Hall of famer, but not an upper tier guy. 50 years from now I don't think people will remember him.

i doubt that, as Wright handed Mosley 2 defeats, and Mosley iis definetly an ATG, oh and the thread's question was will Wright be remembered in 20 years, not 50 you jackass
