Abraham has the most votes right now, and that seems odd to me. Against Pavlik or Wright, AA is at some very serious disadvantages. Arthur's fight plan usually seems to be predicated on landing one big money shot. Is he good at landing the money shot? It took him 11 1/2 rounds to land it on Ayala, and trust me, Elvin Ayala is no Winky Wright. Arthur stopped Miranda in 4 rounds, but Miranda sure as hell ain't no Winky either. Winky Wright would be the best fighter Arthur has faced. Opportunities to land anything big would be few and far between. If AA did land something, Winky has one hell of a chin, and knows what to do when he's hurt.

In a Pavlik/Abraham fight you have to concede all the physical advantages to Kelly. He's taller, stronger, and has an enormous arm length advantage. It's extremely difficult to counter punch against a guy you can't reach. And where does Arthur go when an opponent pressures him? He goes to the ropes or a corner. What happens to guys Pavlik catches along the ropes or in a corner? They get beat up.

    #1 Kelly Pavlik
    #2 Winky Wright
    #3 Arthur Abraham.

And there sure as hell ain't no shame in being rate number 3 behind Pavlik and Wright.

Yes, I agree. We have a strange and unusual "styles makes fights" situation. I will include Hopkins and Taylor to show how it was.

    Winky beats Abraham
    Taylor beats Winky
    Pavlik beats Taylor
    Hopkins beats Pavlik
    Taylor beats Hopkins
    Hopkins beats Abraham
    Abraham beats Taylor
    Pavlik beats Abraham

This is what happens when several fighters are on similar high levels. When there is a lot of competition in the top (such as the Spanish football league) several teams can beat eachother. When there is less competition (such as the Dutch or the Scottish league), usually one or two performers stand out.

I'd go with Abraham. Although Winky does have a good chance at becoming the #1 middleweight. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

    Emerge?

Pavlik is the undisputed number 1.

Abraham picked up his (or rather, taylor's) vacated belt and still needs to prove himself.

I saw this the exact same way before Pavlik/Hopkins.

I think Pavlik would have beaten Winky before the fight.

Now there is too clear of a blueprint to beat pavlik though, and it's hard to imagine that Winky wouldn't use the tools he had at his disposal.

I think Winky might have early trouble with Pavlik but would adapt . . . Also, Abraham's wild style really plays into Winky's game.

Someone like Pavlik who HADN'T recently been exposed would be a more sure bet.

Also, I think Abraham wins the battle of the chin with Pavlik and knocks him out late, after taking a brutal amount of punishment

If Winky was more younger would easly beat any one of them but i think Winky is too old now, but a prime Winky beat Pavlik and abraham easy.

    Taller ? yep

    Reach ? Yep

    Sronger ? Probably not

    Chin ? Abraham

    One shot power ? Abraham.

    Defence ? Arthur.

A few weeks ago , I posted that this would be a difficult fight to pick.

I allowed that if there was a stoppage, Arthur would prevail.

I allowed if it went the distance, Pavlik would probably prevail.

And while I picked BHop over Kelly, I didn't expect such an embarrassing blowout.

So, I now have to lean towards Arthur as Pavlik's boxing skills may have been somewhat over-rated.

Winky would be more likely to beat Arthur (assuming he's still near his best).

But winkey is not at the 'emerging' stage of his career, The end is probably nigh.

So in answer to the thread question, I lean towards Arthur.

Didn't you know? Haven't you heard? Hadn't they told you from the beginning?

    Nobody KO's the LEGEND. :good

Btw this is pretty close, but I have a feeling Pavlik is going to come back strong and be #1. Can't count out Abraham and Winky, of course, both terrific fighters.

I think Winky would clearly beat Abraham. Abraham is just a poor man's version of Winky with a noticably lesser work rate. Unless if he catches Winky with something, i don't see how he can outpoint Winky. Winky has been a come forward and high output guy ever since the JT fight. He did the same with Quartey and Hopkins. He brought the fight to them as his legs were no longer there.

I see it completely the other way, Wright beating pavlik, pavlik beating abraham, and depending on which winky comes back abraham beating wright(but if its the same wright that fought tito, mosley, b-hop wright beats abraham aswell) ring rust is hard to shake off
