He unified the 3 belts that mattered most at his best weight class, and was considered "undisputed" as such. The WBO only received full recognition, for the most part, when Hopkins unified against DLH. That was only a few months later, so this was right near the "borderline" of when the WBO become more universally accepted.

But prior to DLH-Hopkins, it was impossible to unify the WBO with the other 3.

That was part of the selling point of DLH-Hopkins, to distract fans from the fact DLH probably didn't earn that WBO justly to begin with.

It's okay, homie. You've probably been to a few Up in Smoke tours. It's fine that you're racist... but at least embrace it!

Good to know.. I like Winky, i rooted for him most of the time. But he was clearly not a guy people were excited to watch besides the hardcore fans. That defensive style Just doesn't intrigue the fans unless you're on some amazing streak or are able to captivate people with your mouth. The guy obviously should have taken the short change and be happy, coulda beat Oscar. Was a 50/50 fight at the time.
Just saying Winky was never even on the popularity level of GGG, even though GGG isn't a huge star.
