Altough I think Abraham-Pavlik is one of the hottest fights waiting to be made, I'll settle for Winky-Abraham because I know it will make Pavlik-Abraham a much bigger fight, if AA is to win of course. But like many people have mentioned, the fight could be a snoozer based on their styles. AA should take it though, the main factor being that his a lot younger and fresher, Winky is on his way out and takes a lot more punches than he use to.

I could see Abraham's power breaking Wright's guard by mid rounds. Arthur's too big and strong to be deterred by Wright's punches. Winky couldn't hurt little Ike, Arthur will be right on top of him.

    I think so ,too!

Pavlik is tailor made for Abraham. Wright's style is totally wrong for the Armenian banger.

Abraham always has trouble with fast and mobile fighters as could be seen against Gainer and Ayala.

If this fight does happen it'll be interesting to see if Abraham uses that Winky turtle shell defense he used against Miranda in their rematch against Winky.

Well, the only way Pavlik/Wright is postponed is to make it a bigger fight, AND if my avatar gives them back to Joe. :-( Pavlik is simply out of opponents at 160. At least ones that HBO will pay for.

I still think Arum signs Abraham BEFORE the Jones/Calzaghe fight. He has said he is moving on and this is now his priority. Think about it. Joe screwed over Arum's buddy and fellow promoter. Also, Joe let his belts go.

Absolutely no need for this fight at all. No one wants Winky to mess up a potential Pavlik vs AA. Winky needs to retire.

    Very boring fight.

I would give Winky the edge here.

    IMO

    Winky >> Abraham > Pavlik

(though all three are extremely close)

You think Winky would beat Pavlik? And that Pavlik would lose to Abraham?

I honestly can't believe some of what I've been reading on this board lately as far as matchups go. People ***** that current fighters don't match up with the ones 10, 20, and 30 years ago because they don't make the tough fights enough, ***** all about guys fighting **** opposition, and when a fighter whose been criticized of that signs on for a tough fight, they get called dumb for doing it because it might be a poor style matchup. It happened with Joel Julio, and now it's happening with Abraham, and that's just in the past week.

I don't know what the hell people want sometimes. You know what? ****ing big time props to Arthur Abraham for taking a fight he doesn't have to considering he was on track to fight Pavlik by the end of 2009 anyways. He could've fought a Gary Lockett-stay busy kind of fight and nobody would've complained, and instead signs on to take on a much tougher test. Personally, if he wins, that adds alot of luster to a match with Pavlik because it erases any shade of doubt that he and Pavlik are 1 and 2 at Middleweight. If he can't beat a member of the old guard in Winky, he shouldn't be fighting to be undisputed Middleweight champion anyways.

And props to Joel Julio for having the marbles to fight Dzinziruk on his turf, while we're at it.
