Winky Wright vs Canelo at 154 who wins and why

I know this: no one is getting knocked out.

 

Canelo 7-5/8-4 type fight, close and competitive.

Winky wasn’t a mover and whilst defensively sound under fire, could be and was outworked.

Vargas beat Winky by volume and activity and Canelo is better than Vargas.

 

Winky’s high guard defense would allow Canelo to bank rounds with combos to the body. I never saw Canelo sit on the end of someone’s jab like Shane.

Thanks god. I thought I was crazy. Winky a mover? since when? no bad footwork, not extremelly good neithre. I wouldnt define him as a mover.

On the other hand winkys best weapon is the jab. 100000 jabs per combat. Repetitive, fast, accurate... but the same. It's like heaven for a natural counter puncher.

By the way canelo was willing to eat kirklands left hand just for the sake of connecting his right hand. Wrinky was not a puncher, canelo could do the same without blinking.

I give wrinky the reach advantage though. His best card imho.

It's amazing how you people understimate canelo, you have always done and you will always do.

I wouldnt put my money on wrinky. He could win? ofc, why not? everybody can win at those levels... but I wouldnt put my money on him.

 

True but winky was also naturally bigger than Tito and Mosley, his best wins. He lost to Vargas and Canelo is a much better fighter than Vargas in every way.

Jermaine Taylor was always inconsistent.

 

Winky wins ten out of the twelve rounds and Canelo wins the decision ,easy fight to predict.

It is a great match up and the reason I think that is because I am genuiinely struggling to pick a winner.

Was a bit of a fan of Wright. He boxed in the UK a fair bit earlier in his career, way before the Vargas fight and defended his WBO LMW title in the UK, so I saw his talent a long time before he got his rightful recognition.

As for picking, it's a tough one. I imagine whichever way it would go that the decision would be controversial

I would be rooting for Wright but have a feeling canelo would get the nod at 154.
Wouldn't bet on it though
