Actually not the worst fight. Grady is on a little run lately. Of course if Winky has even an ounce of his old self left, he should win.
Grady is like 38 years old, and he's fighting better than ever. However, I assume this fight is at 160 because Winky can't make 154 anymore, and Brewer does not belong anywhere north of 154. In addition Brewer is already a card carrying member of the "who the **** needs that guy" club, and if he puts in a good showing against Winky that will get worse.
I tend toward being fans of guys in the "who the **** needs that guy" club. I'm thinking you might be pulling for Wink in this one. Pavlik needs a decent, low risk name to fight at 160 some time early in 2010.
Actually -- I would love to see Brewer pull off the miracle. The man has taken zeros from 4 undefeated prospects, and in the contender 2 he was the longest of the long shots. And then last year few people expected him to beat K9, but he did. Grady is known for pulin' off the upset, but unless Winky is just completely done, Grady is going to lose a wide UD.
One of the fighters on our fight card is suppose to spar with Brewer this weekend. I let you know how it goes.
Good point about the K-9 fight. I think you and I went back and forth about that one a bit. I was pretty sure K-9 was going to win, but Grady surprised me. You certainly were entitled to give me an "I told you so". :yep I'm in agreement on this fight, though. Unless Winky is shot, he'll have enough to beat Brewer.
Do we know that he hasn't? Is he fighting because he desparately needs the money, like Yory Boy Campas, or is he fighting because he still can win some fights and add to his retirement fund at the same time?
Now why would you come on this thread and diss one of the gutsiest, hardest working journeyman in the sport? **** off with your elitist bull**** Joe!
